5 minutes freewrite: can you swim

There was a duck named Ducky who was really good at swimming. She was proud and she showed her skills in swimming every chance she got. Her parents were worried about her showing off her skills like this, they were afraid that she would be despised by other ducks because she shows herself to be a know it all!

Her parents talked to her and told her that she shouldn't tell everyone every minute that she knows how to swim and is a better swimmer than anyone else!

She didn't listen to her parents and kept showing off her skills at swimming, and what her parents were afraid of happened. She was despised and no one played with her! She became a lonely duck!

Loneliness got to Ducky and she started to reflect on what got her to this stage. One day, she was swimming and she got into an accident and broke her leg. Her leg didn't heal and she couldn't swim as she did before.

She watched other ducks swim, and was full of regrets, now she understood how others felt when she showed off her skill.

A human named Gabriella saw Ducky, and she felt her sadness in her eyes and noticed her broken legs and she helped her heal.

Ducky was happy and she promised herself to teach swimming to as many ducks as she can, and stop being a proud know it all!
