Famous Gorditas | Sculptures in Plaza Botero

Greetings friends of Hive and Visualshots, I hope you are well. I also hope you like some pictures that I have taken exclusively for this community, that was several months ago and before my iPhone was damaged. You already know that I like to show parts of Medellin and is that it is a privileged city in many aspects such as, for example, is the birthplace of the famous artist Fernando Botero creator of the works of art that are exhibited in the famous Plaza Botero. There are 23 bronze sculptures that can be found in the square and all the figures are chubby because the artist was famous for his works that represented the plump appearance of people and animals, especially in naked bodies that can have postures that attract much attention.

También espero que les guste unas fotografías que he tomado exclusivamente para esta comunidad, eso fue hace varios meses y antes de que mi iPhone se dañara. Ya saben que me gusta mostrar partes de Medellín y es que es una ciudad privilegiada en muchos aspectos como por ejemplo, es la cuna donde nació el famoso artista Fernando Botero creador de las obras de arte que se exhiben en la reconocida Plaza Botero. Son 23 las esculturas de bronce que podemos encontrar en la plaza y todas las figuras son gorditas porque el artista era famoso por sus obras que representaban el aspecto rellenito de las personas y animales, especialmete en cuerpos desnudos que pueden tener posturas que llaman mucho la atención.

But why are so many people looking at that sculpture?

Pero ¿por qué hay tanta gente viendo esa escultura?

Well, there is a bit of a weird mystery with this sculpture. People say that if you want to get lucky you can touch the noble part of the soldier 😂 There are women who laugh a lot with this belief and have fun playing along.

Bueno, hay un misterio un poco raro con esta escultura. La gente dice que si quieres tener suerte puedes tocarle la parte noble al soldado 😂 Hay mujeres que se rien mucho con esta creencia y se divierten siguiendole la corriente.

I show you two more sculptures to finish this exhibition so that you can see that there are not only naked people in Botero's works, there are also some with modesty and that is why they have clothes.

Les muestro dos esculturas más para finalizar esta exhibición para que vean que no solamente hay personas desnudas en las obras de Botero, también hay algunas con pudor y por eso tienen ropas.
