The mystery of the white strands solved

While I was inspecting my buds, I found these white fibers on my buds. I was quite alarmed by this at first, but after going down the list of things it could be. I settled on it being bird feathers. Well I was wrong, as a few days later. I spotted another bud with fibers on it. But this time a dandelion seed was there. I pulled it off and it left behind the fibers just like I saw before.

I am really glad it appears to have been that. As other things I was worried about was some kind of weird bud fungus, caterpillar spines or spider mites or fibers left behind from my netting. All really bad things.

But in the end I think it was just dandelion seeds floating by the buds, some getting closer than others. Eventually one stuck to the buds and that is how it got like that.

At least that is the hope, sure seems like it. As dandelions grow wild around here, I have seen them floating on the air currents so its very possible.

This is one of the dandelion plants, those white puff balls are to blame I think.

Good evening my brother ♥️

And from this post we can learn, That it is better for us to find out first than we immediately think badly.

Maybe so, my brother, because the white balls of dandelion plants stick very easily.

Yep that is exactly what I think happened.

Yay! I'm happy for you that it was nothing serious!!💯
We have a lot of dandelions around here also. Micah and I like to help them spread by picking and blowing them. He thinks it's a lot of fun🤪🥰
Glad to know it's not going to hurt our plant💯💚

Yeah me too, could have been much worse.. Well keep an eye out for them and if you find them too maybe that is what they are.

Hah yeah I like blowing those seeds too.

I'm glad you were able to find the origin of the fibers in the buds.
Great that it's only the fibers from the dandelions, it makes a lot of sense.
I hope everything goes well, dear friend @solominer, until the harvest.
Have a great day

Loving the smell.

Those are some delicious looking buds you got there. My mouth was actually salivating.

Regarding the strands:

Another possibility is it could be aluminum strands from the chem trails.l, but you would need a microscope to see that. The. You could just take your findings and then compare them to actually documented metallic fiber strands to see if it is true or not.

I get fibers on mine too, usually from spiders, but recently a few praying mantis have magically appeared and called my cannabis crops their home. I have never seen such clean buds since they arrived.

If they leave, I will definitely make an investment on a few 100 praying mantis now that I have seen for myself how well they do with them. All we need is one pregnant Mantis.

Ah thanks! I should try to get one of those strands and look at it under my pocket microscope. I keep one on hand to check the crystals of the buds when it comes closer to harvest time. I expect that to be around mid to late October, but the microscope will tell me for sure.. looking for milky crystals, since its a sativa.

Hah that is great a mantis showed up and helped! I would love to see some pictures of it on your buds.

We have mantis all over my property, I would not be surprised if they have visited my cannabis plants too.

Here's an old article on it to get started on it. Probably one of the worst cases of concentrate chemtrail metallic fibers falling from the sky.

I remember seeing plenty of real spiders that shoot their web into the air to travel large distances, but this isn't it.

A pocket microscope definitely might not have the zoom needed to tell.

Anyways,
I get spider webbing lo the time. The spiders tend to jump on me during my trims.

I just checked a few minutes ago for that mantis and it is gone. I only have the one plant left.

And this is what I took from that plant before I took the above two pictures a few seconds ago.

Out of 20 only 4 came to be female, so very low yield this year. I just planted more outside too and I know winter is coming but I am getting a lucky vibe that it won't be so bad. We'll see though.

Those look great.. yeah normal seeds can suck when it comes to so many males... I prefer feminized seeds.

What a scare the dandelion plants gave you @solominer I'm glad you discovered what those white filaments on your cannabis plants were due to.

Yep, growing outdoors is all new to me.. I do not get such seeds landing on my plants indoors so this is a new experience for me.

I didn’t know they were called dandelions even though I have heard about dandelions over times😁😁

I gave them a shower before harvest then once dried, during The last three days I spend it compressing the buds by hand, once per morning and noon, to trap as many goodies in. Then I cut, trim, etc.

@davedickeyyall yep I am going to look into how to do that exactly.. like you said multiple buckets. Need to get some and figure out what solutions will go in each.

@dreamtales you grow cannabis? I would love to see a post about your plants in the canna-curate community. Curious what you mean by compressing the buds by hand.

So I did lemon juice with warm water in bucket 1... clean warm water in bucket 2 and clean cold in bucket 3..

Submerge and shake vigorously.. like a baby 😆

That's a big relief but, I suggest you observe it well more again. There's possibility of the buds camouflaging to be dandelion flower

Ah yeah but I am going to wash the buds when I harvest, so hopefully it will all be gone by doing that.

Still nothing to worry about, but I think your 'dandelion' is sow thistle, or possibly coltsfoot.
