Need For Speed es uno de los videojuegos más clásicos que existe, hasta me atrevo a decir que es como el Shakespeare en el género de las carreras. Most Wanted, la novena entrega de la saga, es la que más referencias ha tenido dentro de la nostalgia Gamer. Y no es para más. La magia de conducir un auto y competir a altas velocidades fue posible gracias a esta parte de la franquicia. De algún modo, fue un juego con bastantes desafíos y el inquebrantable ánimo de los adversarios, lo que me orilla a mencionar a la protagonista detrás de tanto éxito: la blacklist.

La Blacklist de Rockport, ciudad ficticia en la que se desarrolla la historia de Most Wanted, prometía la gloria que todo corredor callejero desea: dinero, autos como recompensas, odio policial y bastante fama. Mientras más te acerques al puesto número uno, con más cuidado te verán los adversarios. Claro que no te posicionas solo con ganar carreras, sino que además debes hacer caos y causar problemas en Rockport. No es nada fácil luchar contra ley, más cuando esta tiene toda la razón. Lo bueno en Need For Speed, es que la "razón" no tiene por qué ser aburrida.

Of course, you don't just position yourself by winning races; you must also cause chaos and trouble in Rockport. It's not easy to fight against the law, especially when the law is right. The good thing in Need For Speed is that "reason" doesn't have to be boring.

La historia del juego es bastante interesante, y si has tenido oportunidad de jugarlo te habrás dado cuenta de que, en el momento en que nos despojan de nuestro BMW blanco con decorados azules, la ira se enciende en nuestro corazón de corredor antes inexistente. Comprendes lo injusto que es que te quiten algo por medio de la sinvergüenzura de un holgazán que quiere ser el centro de atención. ¿Recuerdas a quien me refiero? Pues sí, a Razor, el villano más pérfido con el que me he topado en un videojuego.

No todo está perdido. Por suerte, una chica sexy nos ayudará a recuperar lo nuestro, ¡que vivan las chicas sexys! Mia, la nueva mejor amiga angelical, será como la Gaia de God Of War II, solo que Mia no es tan doble cara como la personificación de aquella mujer titán que le rompió el corazón al fantasma de Esparta, y no precisamente en términos románticos. Al equipo de los villanos no villanos (porque son policias y los policias deberían ser buenos) se une Cross. ¡También te hará la vida imposible!

Al menos para mí, derrotar corredores y escalar en la Blacklist de Rockport fue bastante divertido. Lo más difícil, además de las carreras, eran los desafíos de "Hito" y "Bolsa" que debía superar para cumplir con algunos requisitos de competencia. Las persecuciones policiales eran muy frecuentes, y más difíciles cada vez que subía de posición en la Blacklist. Cuando salía el helicóptero, realmente estaba en problemas. Pero en definitiva, no había nada peor que los las barricadas que colocaban en medio de la vía para espichar las llantas. No todas las veces salía ileso... odiaba cuando me llevaban a la cárcel, jajaja.

Creo que algo que agradezco bastante es la banda sonora, integrada por una banda bastante buena, "Disturbed". Una de las canciones que más me gustaba oír era "Decadence", mientras corría, pulsaba el nitro y la velocidad aumentaba al ritmo de esta pieza de Decadence. Conocí la banda gracias a este juego, por lo que es imposible no tener nostalgia cuando lo recuerdo.

At least for me, beating racers and climbing the Rockport Blacklist was quite fun. The hardest part, besides the races, was the "Milestone" and "Bag" challenges that I had to overcome to meet some of the competition requirements. The police chases were very frequent, and more difficult each time I moved up the Blacklist. When the helicopter came out, I was really in trouble. But ultimately, there was nothing worse than the barricades they set up in the middle of the road to spike the tires. Not every time I got out unscathed... I hated it when they took me to jail, hahaha.

I think something that I appreciate is the soundtrack, made up of a pretty good band, "Disturbed". One of the songs I liked listening to the most was "Decadence", while I was racing, I would press the nitro and the speed would increase to the rhythm of this piece by Decadence. I got to know the band thanks to this game, so it's impossible not to be nostalgic when I remember it.

La Blacklist de Rockport es una de las pocas en las que te gustará estar, por supuesto, en la realidad de los juegos electrónicos. A pesar de que el juego salió en el 2005, todavía sigue siendo una propuesta interesante para disfrutar de los tiempos de ocio, y convertirte en el mejor corredor callejero. ¿Aceptarías el reto?
