Splinterlands - Trying Survival Mode

Hello all Splinter mates,
Survival mode was released at the beginning of this season and I would like to share my experience with the new format in this post.

This is also my entry to Community Engagement Challenge 👍


The highlight in Survival mode is that my monsters can not be used after death. They are put in the CD mode and I can only use them after CD completes.
So one of my strategies is not to use any monsters in Modern format. I want to keep them for the ranked battles. That's why I avoided using them in the 1st battle.
I haven't played Wild format for a while and my brain still could not load the suitable strategy, so I lost the 1st one.
All of them were dead and put in the cool-down mode.

My 2nd battle was a low-mana battle. I wanted to win it so I chose the monsters from Modern format.
With several Underboss Fabino cards in my deck, I chose him as the summoner. In case I lose this battle, I can still use him later.

Finally, I won the battle but my level 2 Halfling Refugee was dead. Halfling Refugee level was capped by level 1 Underboss Fabino but the highest level of Halfling Refugee was automatically chosen in the battle. It's not convenient at all.

After reading carefully the Survival Mode FAQ, the card level filter was added in this mode. That allows me to choose the card level to put in the battle

With the experience from the 2 above battles, I entered the 3rd battle
It took me more time to line up because I don't remember all the cards.
Luckily, I won the battle without losing any monster.

One more important note from Survival Mode FAQ is CD reset with the new season start. With it, I plan to use up the battle energy 1 day before the season end and switch to Survival mode on the last day of the season.

Thanks for sharing your experiences. Looking forward to more of that. Especially the cooldown reset at the beginning of a new season. We had same experiments with @anjadani's cards and found that cards can be disabled for survival mode. While the cool down periods shown for defeated cards where different for some reason we could not comprehend. Some where 9 days, some 12 and some in between. A couple of days pass and if I remember right the periods had nothing to do with the season timer. While I can understand that there might be a global reset regardless of the timer shown with a cord. We'll see.

Hi Anjanida,

Here is the CD table. Base CD is for level 1, and Max CD is for max level.
Besides of it, no matter what the remaining CD time, it will be reset at the new season.

Aha!! I'm loving it, thanks for simply showing this. That's a matrix I can read. While that makes it hard to coordinate top cards. This time the season ends shortly before the brawl ends, yet now I'll have an eye on that. When a season starts right before a brawl will be a good time for Survival with top cards.
