Hey there guys, Today, I wanted to talk about something that has been trending lately: Moon Breathing.
Yes, you got that right. It does not involve staring at the moon and taking deep breaths but it is a nifty technique that could speed up your Z’s and give you a good night sleep.
So what is Moon Breathing all about? Well, basically it is a fancy name for an ancient yogic breathing exercise called Chandra Bhedana Pranayama.
I know, that sounds like a mouthful, but bear with me.
This breathing thing has been around since time immemorial and it’s supposed to make you unwind.
Now I am no yoga guru but ever since I stumbled on this whole Moon Breathing phenomenon online, I’ve been itching to find out more about it.
From what I understand though; this has gone viral on TikTok as well as other social media platforms claiming to be the ultimate cure for insomnia.
However you know how the internet is: full of promises and hype.
However, I’m not averse to trying it. Then I decided to probe further into it and find out its real meaning.
Nevertheless, Moon Breathing is not as hard as it may seem.
Basically, however, it is simply an exercise of breath that helps one in clearing his or her head and relaxing the body. Think of it like a mini meditation session for when you want to wind down after a stressful day.
The technique is actually pretty simple. All you have to do is lie down, close your eyes, and start inhaling through one nostril and exhaling through the other.
This is supposed to help calm down your nerves and make it easy for you to switch off when nothing else seems to work for you.
Well, I must confess that initially I was doubtful. After all, how can something as rudimentary as breathing help with falling asleep faster? Nevertheless, I decided to try it out anyway and boy was I in for a surprise.
I didn’t notice much difference the first time I tried Moon Breathing.
However, with time, I started feeling relaxed and peaceful. My thoughts became less hurriedly increasing till gradually drifted into sleep again before i knew it.
It is more than a while now that I have been incorporating Moon Breathing into my nightly routine, and I must say; it has made a difference.
It makes falling asleep much easier, and I can stay asleep throughout the night. Besides, it is an excellent way of unwinding and de-stressing after a harrowing day.
But you know what? Moon Breathing might not be everyone’s cup of tea. So what?
There are plenty of other methods for sleeping out there such as Military Sleep method or guided sleep meditation, just to mention but a few. The important thing is for you to find what works best for you and stick with it.
In the grand scheme of things, however, Moon Breathing may just be another fad in sleep hacks but if this helps catch those desperately needed winks- who am I to complain?
So why don’t you give it a try tonight? You never know; you might just wake up feeling more renewed and revitalized than ever before!
To sum up, in my opinion, it may seem like a mere craze on the internet, but moon breathing has changed everything for me. It is not complicated; it is not difficult and most importantly, it does work.
