Childhood; Age of Innocence

No matter how you slice it, children are a blessing. Such innocent little human beings. Anywhere from birth to age 12 is considered childhood.

It is a period where our imaginations ran wild. A period where our minds could really travel beyond the physical realm. A period where dreams truly felt like reality.

When we were kids, all the world was a play ground. We would always find a way to play no matter the environment or situation; with whatever was available to us.

The birth of a child to a young couple usually marks a new phase in their marital lives. those early childhood days usually brings the couple together in ways they would not expect. Young couples are brought closer together as they share responsibilities of taking care and raising their child.

Aside the young couple, the birth of a child brings entire families and even communities together. It marks a period of celebration, merry making and coming together as we do during naming ceremonies.

For children in early childhood development (i.e. from ages 0 to 6), It is such a marvel watching them grow and trying to figure things out. The mere sight of them, sepecially the infants, is a spectacle. So fragile yet so cute and adorable. The emotions they show when they utter their first words and when they take their first steps are a thing of absolute marvel. Their giggles and laughs are so infectious it lights up every room they enter.

In their late childhoods (i.e. from ages 6 - 12), they have developed full motor and sensory abilities. They begin to take on identities of their own. Nevertheless, they still rely heavily on their parents with their emotions and worries. They begin to ask questions you you would sometimes never expect from them. All in their attempt to understand the world around them. this process of guiding them meticulously into the realities of life, also, is an experience worth having.

That being said, children are somethings very mischievous little creatures. They could turn a very sunny day into an instant mid-night. Dirtying the living room unprovoked. Scattering cooking utensils and ingredients all over the kitchen. Destroying electrical appliances. Basically wrecking anything they can get their hands on and that's on a good day.

As a teenager I often dreamt of starting a family ideally at the age of 25. Unfortunately, plans have changed and I am not able to stay true to that dream. Several factors have come to stall my plans, notable among them is finding the right partner and some financial constraint that might be involved in raising a family😅.

Presently, age 30 seems an optimal age to have kids. Thirty because my life goals seem to align perfectly in that regard.

The number of kids I would like to have would range from 3 to 7. That would depend, greatly, on my financial situation and my partner(obviously🌝). Somehow an odd number of children appeals so much to me.

You got to the end, thanks for your time.
