📷 A snow-covered temple in winter

Good evening dear subscribers and active users of our site! I wish you all a Happy New Year 2024.

May all your wishes and dreams come true in the New Year. And today I decided to show you my new painting, which is called "The Wonderful Temple in the snow"!

I also made an animation with snow for a great mood before such a holiday. Snow is very rare in our Kuban region. I hope you like it too?

And I began to paint the picture itself, not from the sky, as I always did, but from the very building of the temple.

But now I see that it was necessary to work with the ruler. The fact is that I installed the easel with some bias and forgot about it in the process of painting the picture. and now I see that the temple is slightly tilted like the Leaning Tower of Pisa. I think he has his own charm in this :-)

... this time I wrote on a 55x45 cardboard.

And I used gold acrylic to draw the domes. I think it looks very impressive. Although you may have a different opinion on this matter?

Yes. Also this time I really liked how I got the trees.

In the process, I used different shades of blue, pinkish and yellow... In my opinion, it is the mixing of colors that gives a comparative effect in the construction of a landscape composition.

In addition, I wanted to show the shadow in some places, as professional artists do. But you remember that I am self-taught, I have not studied anywhere and I achieve everything by trial and error.

And this time I tried to paint trees in a new technique called imprimatur.

Imprimatur is a simple and effective way to create paintings and generally color harmony with a thin layer of paints, while the soil, shining through the layers of paints, unites them in a certain coloristic way.

So I first applied light shades to the trees and then only darker ones.

Although the imprimatur can be different. Firstly, it can be not only single-layered but also multi-layered; secondly, it differs in the number of colors and uniformity, also being divided into several types:

• One-color uniform
• One-color heterogeneous (at the same time, the paint can be applied creatively: where it is thick, where it is rubbed, and somewhere barely indicating some shade of color ...)

Therefore, I generally used muted shades on the background trees. But now you can see the difference, right?

And I really got the clouds. Anyway, all my friends liked my new painting very much. I hope that you will not remain indifferent to my art.

And as a result, the finished work looks like this. However, I wanted to add a cheerful snowman to the foreground in honor of the holiday. And then something has not been able to cheer up in recent days in connection with current events...
