The Visconteo Castle of Pagazzano.
Hello dear friends,
I completely forgot to share with you the experience of a wonderful guided tour I had in a magnificent castle located near Bergamo. This place, which is not always accessible to the public, has the fortune of being open once a month thanks to the commitment of a dear friend of mine, a passionate art enthusiast like myself. He dedicates himself with passion to organizing guided tours for all those interested in exploring this enchanting castle.
It is the Visconteo Castle of Pagazzano, a structure dating back to the fourteenth century, a beautiful example of defensive architecture and an important historical heritage of the Lombardy region to this day.
As usual, and as is the case with many other places I have had the opportunity to visit, I feel a certain regret in realizing that this wonderful place is often closed and inaccessible to the public. However, I am delighted by the existence of a friend, fueled by the same passion that drives me, who devotes part of his time to this enchanting place. I am grateful for his commitment and dedication, thanks to which it is possible to enjoy a few hours of discovery and beauty in this place.
So, the castle is characterized by an imposing structure, as you can see from the photos, with mighty walls and corner towers. Naturally, like many medieval structures, it has undergone several modifications and expansions, but it largely reflects its original appearance.
Visiting the castle represents for me an opportunity to immerse myself in the history and medieval atmosphere, discovering the lives of the lords who once inhabited these places. For me, these places represent sites of great fascination and beauty, deserving a visit for all those interested in the history of art.
You can explore the different rooms of the castle, which transport you back to the atmosphere of a bygone era, and this, in my opinion, is very evocative and charming.
When it is open for guided tours, my friend manages to involve a historical reenactment group from the area, which often simulates life during the medieval period. In this case, I photographed a combat between knights, something quite typical of that era.
As usual, I hope that these architectural treasures will be more valued, as I am convinced that many people would be interested in visiting these places, but above all, to protect and preserve them in history, as they always require restoration interventions. I hope, as usual, to have introduced you to a beautiful place that I was fortunate enough to visit, and I hope you will be able to visit it yourselves one day.
