The Medieval Village and Castle of Fighine in Tuscany"
Hello dear friends,
I apologize for being a bit absent during this period, but unfortunately, due to the cold weather, I continue to get sick. This year has been truly incredible in that regard, and sometimes I lack the energy to sit at the computer. Fortunately, today I'm out to share this post about a beautiful place that I visited when I was in Tuscany last time.
It's about the Castle of Fighine, which is actually a medieval village near San Casciano dei Bagni, a village I talked about a bit in my previous posts. For a while, it remained uninhabited, and now it has been privately owned for several years. It has been practically restored, and there is a beautiful Michelin-starred restaurant with traditional Tuscan dishes.
If you have followed my posts, this castle with its church is located on the road that, starting from San Casciano dei Bagni, a place I have already introduced to you, goes towards Palazzone, another village that I have also introduced to you here.
I just took a stroll nearby and took some photos because I wasn't sure if it was possible to enter. From there, you can truly see a beautiful panorama of the entire Tuscan countryside. It's a pity that, from what I understand, you can only eat there and not stay overnight. It would be a truly wonderful place to spend a beautiful vacation in the midst of nature.
Honestly, I did some research to understand when this castle was built because I was very curious about it. Unfortunately, there is very little information about this castle online, except that it should have been built around the 16th century and, like many castles, it has been modified and expanded. That day, I did a quick tour around, but next time, if there's an opportunity, I want to try the restaurant. It will also be a chance to visit the castle.
I think it's always very interesting to discover new places, and in this case, I didn't know it existed. In fact, I thought it was uninhabited; instead, fortunately, it has been restored.
I hope you enjoyed the photos I shared. See you in my next post, wishing you a wonderful day.

Indeed, historical buildings often stand as remarkable testaments to the craftsmanship and dedication of the workers who constructed them. The intricate details, architectural designs, and the endurance of these structures over time showcase the skill and hard work that went into their creation. It's fascinating to appreciate the beauty and history behind such places. If you have more details about the specific building or if you want to explore more historical sites, feel free to share or ask!
