Hello dearest friends,

On this rainy Saturday, I decided to share with you some photos I took just a few days ago. This time, for work reasons, I found myself in Umbria. I visited a client who is located near a village that is quite famous as a tourist destination, and I’m sure many of you have heard of it: I’m talking about the village of Spello.

I had already been to this village a few years ago, and I must say it’s very beautiful, and it has become even more so. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the chance to visit its main attractions, which include the Church of Santa Maria Maggiore, the Tega Chapel, and the Civic Art Gallery, which houses important local works of art, including numerous frescoes, paintings, and sculptures.

Let’s say I took a fairly quick tour. What I love most about this village is the fact that almost every part of it is adorned with flowers, and this not only makes it more scenic but also makes the air more pleasant because it creates a delightful fragrance.

Yes, while I was walking, I noticed that there were small plaques hanging on the walls, and from what I gathered, it seems that every year there is a competition here that rewards the most beautiful flowered balcony. It’s a great initiative that, in my opinion, encourages the locals to make their surroundings even more beautiful—not just for the tourists who come to visit, but also for themselves as they live there all the time.

One of the differences I noticed compared to some Tuscan villages is that you can tell there is much more tourist influence here because it’s a very lively place, even in terms of the services it offers. In fact, there are many bars and restaurants in this village.

I hope that next time I can stop and visit the attractions because I hear there are some very interesting frescoes. In the meantime, I hope you enjoyed the photos I shared, and I’ll see you in my next post. But first, I wish you all a great day!
