"Exploring the Charming Village of Pomarance in Tuscany: A Hidden Gem"
Hello dearest friends,
I hope you are well and that everything is going smoothly for you. Today, I want to share with you some photos I took in a beautiful village in Tuscany. Specifically, I'd like to talk to you about a place located in the province of Pisa that I'm sure you're not familiar with. It's not widely known as a tourist destination, but in my opinion, it's quite charming and worth a visit, at least I enjoyed it a lot.
Its name is quite unique; it's called Pomarance. In ancient times, this area was a battleground for bishops, but I couldn't find much information about the village. Instead, I'll show you what I saw and the photos I took.
I took the first photos in the main square, a fairly large rectangular square where you could find restaurants and bars. Actually, more than restaurants, you can find two interesting trattorias here that probably serve local cuisine. I managed to enter the village church. You know, I often share that unfortunately, I find these churches closed. However, here I found it open, and I must say it was quite beautiful. There were no famous paintings by famous artists, but there were some interesting things.
I then continued my stroll through the narrow alleys of this village, which are quite narrow, but in some cases, you can even pass through with a car. Unlike other villages, this place is inhabited by quite a few people on a permanent basis. I noticed few vacation homes, and from what I understood, they use geothermal energy for heating in this area. I might have mentioned in some post that in this part of Tuscany, they harness the heat from the underground to warm up.
Unfortunately, I didn't find any kittens in this place. In fact, I noticed that, apart from a few dogs, there were very few pets. In my opinion, the issue is that within these villages, there are few green spaces. Yes, the village is surrounded by beautiful countryside, but it's external, so I can imagine that those who have pets have to take them outside all the time.
In conclusion, I can say that I really liked this place. As I mentioned before, it's always well-maintained. It's truly rare to find an uncared-for village in Tuscany. Anyway, I wish you all a good day, and we'll see each other very soon.
