Another hidden Tuscan village!
Hello dearest friends,
I believe by now you have come to know my passion for Tuscany and its beautiful villages. Honestly, I never realized just how many there are in this stunning region. There must be quite a lot because every time I visit, I discover new ones, as is the case with La Sassa, a village with a truly peculiar name. Its name probably refers to the fact that most of the houses I've seen are all made of stone, although in reality, I've seen other villages with such constructions as well.
I visited this place because a few months ago I met someone who actually lives here permanently. Their choice to live here was a deliberate lifestyle decision, and they invited me to visit them this summer. I must say that getting there was quite a challenge, even though this beautiful village is located in the municipality of Montecatini Val di Cecina, just a few kilometers from Pisa.
Naturally, at a certain point, you have to leave the car behind since most of the streets in this village are not drivable. I repeat, it's not the only village I've seen with these very unique narrow streets, and honestly, I've always seen this as a bit of an issue. Not being able to drive up to your home might be a problem for some, but in reality, these streets lead to a lot of tranquility. Having cars passing in front of your house is always a source of stress, and that's something you won't find in these beautiful villages.
Most people who own homes in these places use them as second homes, primarily for vacations. Rarely do you find people who live here permanently. Even though she told me that, for instance, they don't have issues with snow, you still need to use a car to reach any services.
From my personal experience, I could understand that it's a quiet and picturesque place with a stunning panoramic view of the Tuscan countryside. These are always those highly interesting places where you can take a beautiful stroll and experience Tuscan culture, as well as see history with your own eyes. For example, in this village, there's a magnificent Medici Tower dating back to the 1300s, and who knows how much this beautiful historical monument has witnessed.
As you can see from the photos I've taken, the village is always well-maintained. When you visit such places, you can feel the care and attention that the homeowners have for their properties. Despite these houses often being used very little, they always strive to adorn them in the best way possible. There's never a shortage of pots and flowers to make them even more beautiful.
I hope that my photos and my narrative have been interesting and haven't bored you. It's a pleasure for me to introduce you to these places that are certainly off the beaten tourist path but are worth seeking out to truly appreciate the local culture.
See you in my next post, and I wish you all a wonderful day!

How are you dear friend @silviared945 good morning
I like to know this type of town, I am passionate about architecture and period buildings are my weakness
I love the streets and the beautiful facades of the houses
Beautiful photos, thank you very much for sharing with us.
there are so many of these places one should take the time to explore them
Everytime I see places like this, I can't think anything else but: what do they do in order to make a living?
This permanent resident, does he work? Or is he retired?
I would love to live in a place like this, but I honestly don't know how I would make an income living in a so remote place!
tell me my friend works through the internet
Muy buen post!!!!
😍

Looking at the beautiful buildings, I think I would take it as a second home myself. A family vacation house or my place of solace where there's rest from all the hustle and bustle of city life. If you come here, you can rest assured that your creative flow would run free indeed.☺️
It depends on what lifestyle choice a person can make. There are people who have always chosen to live here, giving up so many comforts
What beautiful photographs, they make you feel that you are there.
I am going to post about Tuscany soon too.
Greetings from Venezuela @silviared945
Thanks dear for your words
First of all, what beautiful pictures!
Living there must mean giving up some "comforts" but surely gaining others. I would certainly love to visit.
you definitely gain a lot in health
