And once again, yesterday was a day of exploring new villages!!

Hello dearest friends!!

Yesterday, I can say it was another great day of exploration. I discovered new villages, and now I can't wait to share with you the photos I took there! Today, I want to talk about Corfino, still a beautiful village in the Garfagnana area—a place that certainly takes you back in time. This village was founded even before the year 1000, and it's extraordinary that it still exists and is still inhabited.

As usual, I explored this village on foot. It's also located near a beautiful natural park that I hope to show you here on the blog one day. I started my journey on a lovely street with steps, always pleasantly challenging, especially with this heat. It was nice to observe each house; some even had chairs placed outside so people could sit and admire those passing by on foot.

While walking here, I had the chance to meet some locals and chat with them. They explained that the place is now very populated because many come here for vacation; some houses are even listed on Airbnb and rented out to tourists. And, as usual, the flowers in these places are never missing—did you see those beautiful colorful geraniums? Walking through the streets, you could smell their fragrance!

I noticed the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in the distance, and seeing the door open, I decided to peek inside. Also, we know that these places of worship, besides being places of peace and meditation, are usually cool and offer refuge during hot days. There are artifacts from the 1600s, although I think this church is older but probably modified over time and recently restored, which I must say is very interesting.

As you can see from the photos, from here you can enjoy a beautiful view and a stunning panorama. The area is surrounded by lots of greenery and nature, with numerous MTB and trekking trails, which I believe are the main activities for those vacationing here.

Wandering through these alleys is wonderful—they’re really intertwined, like being in a labyrinth, but I must say that I've always liked labyrinths since I was little! One last thing I discovered, by reading an information board in the town center, is that this village has been destroyed several times throughout history due to epic battles that took place here.

In conclusion, I really liked this place. It is developing a bit in terms of tourism, but I hope it remains as simple and intimate as it is, because I think that’s the most important thing! See you soon, friends, in my next post. I wish you all a great day and a good start to the week!
