Wednesday Walk and Thanksgiving Fair

I am from the USA, where Thanksgiving Day is celebrated every fourth Thursday of November. This year, Thanksgiving Day will be observed on the 28th of November.

Did I tell you that we are raising funds to build our new Parish Church?

Our parish had the Thanksgiving fair last Sunday!

This is one of the many activities that are hosted by church and school groups. All proceeds benefit the new church.

It was just a small fair, but participated by the community and most parishioners before or after the scheduled Sunday Masses.

There were abundant home baked goods.

Cookies, brownies, and cakes.

Pop-up tents were lined from east to west, and on the grounds were utility and service vehicles: police cars, firetrucks, garbage trucks, and a tractor.

Home decor, etc., etc.

There were clowns to the left and jokers to the right.

There were games for the children and many other things, such as Jacks, Kickball, and Hopscotch.

Everyone found something to enjoy at this Thanksgiving Fair. It gathered people, encouraging joy and harmony. In addition to offering entertainment, these gatherings support cultural variety, and leave a lasting impression on those who attend.

How very cool! That's a great walk for a Wednesday. All of the homemade goodies and food looked great. I bet the kids loved the games, what a nice little fair! Lots of nice tasty food to ruin my diet! lol

It was a wonderful day! Too bad I was not able to take photos of the other end of the grounds.... and the other booths of homemade goodies! It will surely ruin your diet!

Guau it is nice place and if it have food better I love the soups, and brownies specially if there are from chocolate.

Always since I was very young when I knew the concept of Thanksgiving, I liked it very much and I always thought, in my country, instead of copying Halloween, we should copy Thanksgiving Day, it has always seemed to me a celebration that honors its name,

Sounds like a big undertaking! It's great when churches need to grow though! My brother in law is pastor at a small church in a farm town and I don't know if they will ever reach more than fifty members.

Thanksgiving Fairs and Festivities vary from town to town or cities to cities. Since Thanksgiving is several weeks away, this is just another opportunity to raise funds.
We usually have Thanksgiving Parade in our town!

We raised some to add to the bucket... and more to come. And oh, fund raising throughout the two years is in addition to our monthly pledges!

You will need to take many pictures and share sis! They are slated to break ground for ours in January, but our county can be a pain, and I doubt that we will get in that quick. One can pray though! 🙏🤗💜 !HOPE

Clowns? There are always clowns during festivities. Clowns are standard!
Clowns...they wear huge shoes, a large wig, vividly colored makeup, and a red nose.
They entertain.. especially the kids.

The parish is very aggressive in fund raising! We had our Famous Tacos sold during the County Fair which raised over 100K! And every month we have something going on!!!
