Sublime Sunday: Succulent and Stones

Do you recall this tiny succulent plant?
I showed it HERE a couple of years back
showcasing the rocks that I painted.
The succulent's name is Gollum Jade.

Cactus7.JPG

Gollum jade is a type of jade plant (Crassula ovata 'Gollum') distinguished by its trumpet-shaped, tube-shaped leaves that mimic suction cups and are somewhat flared. Gollum is a character in J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings novels.

Cactus6.JPG

Look at it now!

It outgrew its original small pot, which necessitated a transfer to a bigger pot.

Cactus1.JPG

It has grown over the years and looks like it needs a much larger pot!

Cactus2.JPG

Beside it, I plated a jade plant in the ground. That too, has grown so fast!

Cactus3.JPG

What remains unchanged are the painted stones.

Cactus4.JPG

The painted rocks are partly covered now by the leaves of the jade plant. If you wish to know how I came about the rocks, you can check out the article here.

Cactus5.JPG

Perhaps I should plant another succulent to the right of the jade plant. And maybe rearrange the painted rocks, or get rid of it totally.

Gosh, I just realized that I have been living in this home for almost eight years. How time flies!

Tick tock...tick tock...
Life is counting down on your internal clock.

Memories that feel as if they occurred yesterday
turn to flashes of moments that seem to fade away.

People you once knew
walk by without a clue.

The times you once shared
exist as if you were never there.

Years fly...friends die...
and you never know when you'll say your last goodbye.

Oh, how I wish I could turn back time,
spend it with loved ones and cherish what once was mine.

Or to go back even more,
being a kid in a candy store.

How I miss the way I used to feel
on Christmas day when Santa was real.

But back to reality...back to today,
family is scarce and memories continue to fade away.

Tick tock...tick tock...
How I wish I could control this clock.

Wow, what a beautiful Jade plant @silversaver888, my it has grown!🤗
My grandmother had a Jade plant like this, I don’t know what particular type but I remember everyone loved her Jade plant!😊
Eventually, it was donated to the local plant conservatory!❤️

Wow... your grandmother!
Given ideal growing conditions and appropriate care, jade plants can survive 40–70 years, and occasionally even 100 years. They can reach up to six feet in height and three feet in width, but they grow slowly—roughly two inches per year. Jade plants are simple to grow indoors. Because of their remarkable life, these plants are now being handed down from generation to generation, @silvertop🤗!

That’s very interesting to hear @silversaver888!😊
This was indeed a large Jade plant, and now the flower conservatory has this on display in their large glass greenhouse for everyone in Cincinnati to enjoy!😊

Ms. Saver @silversaver888

The Marine Corps celebrates its birthday on Nov. 10, which marks when the Continental Marines were founded on that day in 1775 during the Revolutionary War.

Hello @davedickeyyall !
Did you also paint rocks?
I copy designs from different sources. I can never make a design on my own. I am not that artistic. !LOL

A beautiful jade plant, !INDEED I've never actually had one nor tried to grow one, and may look for one because of your post. It's very pretty and the fact that they can live a very long time makes me think I would probably give it to Agi in the end, should my time here be done.

Thanks for sharing sis! !LUV ya much!🤗😘😍🎄❤️ !LADY !HOPE

Time sure does fly by doesn't it? Eight years already!

Succulents really do grow fast when you let them spread. The are great plants, I think I have the exact same plant on the side of my house. It's been there since I bought the place, the biggest challenge is too keep it from spreading from the bed.

Great Sunday post!
