On the Fifth Day of Christmas...

(Edited)

The Aztec Gods series are the four silver rounds that were privately struck by the Elemental Mint in the United States.

These are good products to have due to their competitive pricing when compared to the spot price of silver, particularly for people like me who are always looking for distinctive bullion goods.

I have in my stack three of the silver rounds in the series:

Aztec Eagle Warrior
Aztec Hunab Ku
Aztec Chalchiuhtlicue

and not in the photo is Aztec Mictlāntēcutli

In case you want to join in, here is a personal invitation from @silverd510

Each day you post a gift that you would like to receive for Christmas. It needs to be precious metal related to qualify. The items can be something you’d like from our silvergoldstackers Secret Santa. Or they could also be something that you really truly wish was a possible gift.

This year, my Christmas wishes are practical. Each one weighs one ounce of silver. As in this one!

Silver Aztec Mictlāntēcutli Silver Round

The Aztecs held that existence necessitates death and death permits life. Anyone with an atheist perspective on life and death may find this difficult to understand.

However, it only suggests that you never truly pass away. Or, more accurately, that "dying" is not a definitive way for life to end. Similar concepts can be found throughout the Judeo-Christian heritage.

Death lets you relax, just like sleep does. The ability to be in this condition of death, repose, or stillness is essentially provided by Mictlantecuhtli.

This is entirely consistent with the belief that the Aztec deity of death is revered for its capacity to create and oversee the Aztec underworld, which serves as an ideal location for reviving.

The Aztec god of the underworld, Mictlāntēcutli, is depicted in a remarkably detailed skeletal form on the obverse of the 1 oz Silver Mictlāntēcutli Coin. The design is based on Aztec mythology. The silver round's cultural authenticity is the finely detailed depiction of The Disk of Mictlāntēcutli on the reverse.

I found several listings of the Silver Aztec Mictlāntēcutli Silver Round in Ebay. This isthe most reasonable!

I have a question about the skull of Mictlāntēcutli, is there a significance to sticking out of the tongue? No insult intended and...but...

Always, with love 🤗🌺❤️😛

the skull of Mictlāntēcutli

Archaeologists found the artwork in Teotihuacan's Pyramid of the Sun in 1963. The basaltic rock disk is partly destroyed. The sculpture features a skull with the tongue out and is surrounded by a pleated paper headdress. The meaning of the sculpture is uncertain, although archaeologists do not rule out the possibility that it alludes to sun death or human sacrifice.

Attributes
Mictlantecuhtli was most commonly depicted as a skeletal figure, though reliefs have also been found depicting him as a skull with eyes. He was sometimes shown with his mouth open, ready to receive the setting stars that disappeared during the day.

Maybe, it is to receive the setting stars???

Much !LUV sis 🤗🌺😛

@silversaver888 Your post is very interesting, I love the coins, my dad gave my son several coins from different countries, but I have not reviewed them, he also has coins from my country from 50 years ago, it is a mini collection of my son's

The coin from your country some 50 years ago must be silver (or gold) if they are a dime or higher in denomination! Look at it, @eve66 !
