I managed to bake some scones the afternoon before I was scheduled for surgery. I knew that I would not be able to do things on my own while recuperating from surgery.

There were lots of instructions. I swear the person who wrote the instructions had many things on her mind. She was all over the place, to the point that it was hard to understand.

I had hired private care (Nurse Assistant) to accompany me to the hospital and all throughout the time that I would need her. She is still with me at the moment.

After a week and a half, it is starting to be bearable!
I had my surgery on July 25 and a few days later was my birthday.

I received a birthday package from @elizabethbit!

which made my day extra special!

My sorority sisters surprised me with a tiny party at home on my birthday! They brought all the food from a dim sum place!!! And cake, and ice cream! Yum!

They brought Salt-Pepper Shrimps and Fried Anchovies..

I found this:

Wow, that's quite the spread. I am glad that your surgery went well. I thought you were saying there were a lot of instructions for the scones at first. It's easy for them to get really dry, so it made sense to me!

Yes, I am glad too that the surgery went well. It's the recovery that's tricky!
!LOL, Scones do get dry easily. Keep them covered, and they should be good for three days. And they are easy to make, YUM with homemade clotted cream and strawberry jam!

My friend is in the hospital right now and I know the recovery is going to be horrible for him if he makes it. He has his fourth surgery in one week scheduled on Friday.

Hanging, @dfinney , I'm hanging in there, and pretty soon I will be up and about. It's nice not to go to work! I know that there is a reason why I work: retirement, health insurance, and all. I count my blessings!!!

!LOL, this is all I took on my birthday, and I couldn't finish it all! They made an effort to get chicken feet... and I had to take one (but couldn't eat it).

I had fun on my birthday, because my sorority sisters made me laugh 😄.
Not working is a treat. I am enjoying doing everything in my room so much, !LOL 🤣. I spend a lot of time on the balcony, which I seldom visit. I think I will grow plants there too!

Aren't @elizabethbit and @silvertop the sweetest? My sorority sisters probably figured that the best thing would be dim sum; they almost bought every selection. Unfortunately, I didn't eat much. I had no appetite at all... which may be good because I need to lose some weight, !LOL. This was all I had on my plate, and I couldn't finish it at all.

I had noticed that your posts were missing from my feed but I didn't know it was surgery.
Hope it went well, and I don't know of you're meant to eat before the surgery and eat so heavy just after the surgery 😂😂😭

Or maybe the lass putting the instructions skipped on that...
