Copper Bitcoin and Hawaii Statehood Stamp

These are gifts from @stokjokey that came with my order of silver ruonds and bars.

First up:

Bitcoin Cooper Round

The 1 oz Copper Round Bitcoin commemorates the most well-known cryptocurrency, Bitcoin. Although it seems a little strange to see the Bitcoin symbol on a genuine coin/round, that is exactly what we have here. And Michael Bruce's design looks amazing in.999 fine copper. The Heads or Tails Coin Company produced this coin (HoTCo).

The coin's obverse bears the famous Bitcoin logo, which is a letter B with two lines through it that resemble dollar signs. 'BITCOIN, DIGITAL, DECENTRALIZED, PEER TO PEER, AOCS APPROVED, 1 AV OZ.999 FINE COPPER' are written around the image. This graphic is a tribute to the qualities of Bitcoin and the factors that have contributed to its development, with these phrases printed around it.

The coin's reverse side resembles microcircuitry, maybe as a tribute to the fact that Bitcoin, like all cryptocurrencies, is housed inside of a computer. There is an area within the microcircuitry that resembles a microchip. The year of manufacture is printed beneath the signature of the design artist, "MJB," on the chip's label.

  • Design based on Michael Bruce’s 2010 original design
  • Limited to only 100,000 rounds worldwide
  • Made of 1 AVDP oz of .999 pure copper.
  • Obverse side has the Bitcoin symbol. Around the image is written ‘BITCOIN, DIGITAL, DECENTRALIZED, PEER TO PEER, AOCS APPROVED, 1 AV OZ .999 FINE COPPER
  • Reverse side has what looks like microcircuitry with the artist’s initials ‘MJB’ and the date of manufacture in what looks like a microchip

Next is a special stamp!

Issued in 1959, HAWAII STATEHOOD STAMP

When did Hawaii become a state?

President Dwight D. Eisenhower officially signed a proclamation admitting Hawaii as a state on Aug. 21, 1959, according to the Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library – just eight months after Alaska was admitted. Hawaii's’s statehood followed a long history of coups, annexation and more.

1959 7¢ Hawaii Statehood

  • Issue Date: August 21, 1959
  • City: Honolulu, HI
  • Quantity: 84,815,000
  • Printed By: Bureau of Engraving and Printing
  • Printing Method: Rotary press printing
  • Perforations: 11 X 10 ½

A true vintage stamp!

The stamp depicts the King Kamehameha the Great of Hawaii.

King Kamehameha was alive during a pivotal time in Hawai’i’s history. Europeans had discovered the islands and had brought with them their technology and their guns. Hence, it was later with the help of those guns that Kamehameha mustered the great fighting power to help him unite the islands. People knew Kamehameha as a smart strategist and a strong leader. He worked hard to preserve the Hawaiian religion and culture. Additionally, his success at war led him to become a highly respected and feared man.
However, for the Hawaiians, it was all about mana: the mana that was given to Kamehameha at the time of his birth, the mana that he had amassed throughout his life, and the mana that would create one political system and unification for the islands. It was his divine power that built up the man and the King. And, henceforth, he became “Kamehameha the Great.”
