Are you Aggressive, Moderate, or Conservative Investor?

Many seasoned investors diversify their portfolios, with the asset allocation reflecting their risk tolerance.

Since all investments carry some level of risk, one can better plan their entire portfolio and choose which investments to make by understanding their level of risk tolerance.

Investors are categorized as aggressive, moderate, or conservative depending on the level of risk they are willing to take.

The investor's time horizon is one aspect that influences risk tolerance. An investor who carefully invests in higher-risk assets, such as equities and has a long-term financial aim may experience better returns. On the other hand, cash investments with lesser risk may be suitable for short-term financial objectives.

If you wish to know about different assets: cash, bonds, mutual funds, Exchange-traded funds (ETFs), stocks, and other alternative investments- look into this HERE.

Investors that are aggressive tend to be knowledgeable about the market, have a good understanding of the volatility of securities, and use strategies to generate returns that are higher than average.

Their investments place a greater emphasis on capital growth than on generating income or protecting the principal. Stocks are frequently included in this investor's asset allocation, with little to no bonds or cash.

Moderate investors strive to increase their capital without taking excessive losses. This investor's strategy is commonly referred to as a "balanced" one because their objective is to weigh opportunities and dangers.

Most frequently, moderate investors create a portfolio that is split roughly 50/50 or 60/40 between stocks and bonds.

Little to no fluctuations in the value of their investments are acceptable to conservative investors. Many people who fall into this group are retired or nearing retirement because they may be afraid to take a loss on their principal investment and have a short-term investing strategy.

A cautious investor seeks out highly liquid, assured investments. For income and capital preservation, risk-averse people frequently choose U.S. Treasuries, money markets, or bank certificates of deposit (CDs).

The best advice for investors is to start small and increase your portfolio over time.

Great post yet again! I tend to be a moderate in my investing, however, I do put maybe 10 percent into the more risky categories (not lottery tickets!) Sometimes it pays off sometimes it doesn't. Thanks!

I totally agree with the idea that investors who are aggressive tend to be knowledgeable with the market and better understanding of it.

Yes there are many types of investing no doubt. The model I’ve always used is do I believe in the asset (or company). Trading stocks in this new world is instantaneously done, the average investor and even many savvy investors miss out on 95% of the trends because of this and buy at highs and lose money. My grandfather told me a long time ago believe in what the company makes and is quality or that the company provides something valuable to companies or the world. The only time I didn’t listen to him was the .com bubble. Thank god I bought early enough and got out early enough to not take a major beating. I made a little, but I was fortunate. I know many people who lost a boatload in that bubble. Since then I’ve gone with my beliefs.

I trend to be a mix of the above @silversaver888!😇
A portion of aggressive, investing …………
Plus, a portion of more conservative vesting, such as HBD savings……….
Diversify your investments is always key !😇😊

I am currently a moderate investor but I plan to become an aggressive investor when I have more knowledge about what I am investing on..

I would say I'm in the moderate category but with aggressive tendencies, haha. I'm rarely afraid to take opportunities but I want a percentage of my portfolio to stay in safer investments.

I think the Dca method is consistent with savings. This way you can diversify the portfolio with moderate growth !

Dollar cost averaging for those who want to make consistent investments over a long period of time, can be a strong instrument. The risks connected with trying to time the market are absent. The ability to gradually build up a position in one or more investments is also available to all kinds of investors.

I'm hanging between aggressive and moderate. 60% in aggressive and 40% moderate. I always like to keep the big picture in mind when investing.

How does that look in investment, @young-kedar?

Well, 60% investment capital allocation on high risk/high reward investments while the 40% on medium risk, stable-ish investments. In practical terms, things are not always clear cut and there's an overlap between the two. There's room to adapt.

Thank you! I am conservative in terms of NOT selling my stocks and reinvesting dividends, and I add to the stocks I hold when prices are down. I'm far from retirement, but I'm invested in my home, money market and bonds. So far so good!

My mood sometimes get the better of me.
There was an old candy bar jingle I heard...
"Sometimes you feel like a nut.(Aggressive)"
"Sometimes you don't. (Conservative)"

Always, with love 🤗🌺❤️

Whatever a person invests, there will be sustenance in it, if there is no sustenance in it, then a person can never earn a big profit in his life.

This year as I got out of debt different than other times Im actually looking to put some money aside before I start buying crypto again as you mention for liquidity and just split my investment in portions, I think all thats happening is the last relief rally before we go up again but one that can take a few months three or five

hmmmmmm, i would say i'm a moderate risk taker/investor. I guess I am more agressive, though since I don't do bonds, or CD's, or even Money market or any of those 'safer' grower, I prefer to stack HIVE/HBD/LEO plus some precious metals and my more riskier side does trading. :P

I only invest in crypto, I'm probably an aggressive investor. But most of my investments are HIVE and HBD, maybe I'm a conservative investor :)

Hahaha, no... if you bought Hive with your own money. But in Hive, there is nothing to invest in except tokens and saving HBD. So maybe.

Starting small for folks who are just getting their feet wet, or for those who are wanting to make wise decisions is best. Also, they need to do the due diligence of the direction they wish to pursue. It can be daunting for sure. There are always folks who are happy to help as well.

Thanks for sharing sis! Love ya much and have a fabulous Thursday!🤗😘💖🌸
