2023 British Silver Merlin Coin
A significant character in the legends of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table was the strong wizard, Merlin. He was claimed to possess magical abilities and foresight because he was the progeny of a demon and a mortal woman.
2023 1 oz British Silver Merlin Coin (BU)
The legendary magician appears on the back field of 2023 1 oz Silver Merlin Coins. Merlin is shown with a staff in one hand and an owl perched on his right shoulder. The artwork was created by David Lawrence for the Royal Mint.
Coin Highlights:
- Arrives in protective flips, plastic tubes of 25, or boxes of 500 coins.
- 2nd design in the new installment of Myths and Legends coins.
- Contains 1 Troy oz of .999 pure silver in BU condition.
- Bears a face value of 2 Pound sterling (GBP) backed by the government of Britain.
- The obverse depicts King Charles III.
- On the reverse is a vision of the sorcerer, Merlin.
The first portrait of King Charles III from his reign appears on the obverse side of the 2023 British Silver Merlin Coin. The new British monarch makes his series debut in a left-profile relief that Martin Jennings produced in the latter half of 2022.

These were the first coins of the Myths and Legends by the Royal Mint.
The second Myths and Legend series started with King Arthur and now with this coin, Merlin.
It saddens me to think that Elizabeth II is no more 😔.
There is no bullion collection like the Myths and Legends Series from the Royal Mint.
The collection, which has three designs for each mini-series release, is truly a compilation of British folklore and mythical individuals.
