Afternoon everyone …

It’s been a bear of a week for me. Aside from trying to complete two jobs at the same time working like a dog. I got an email from the state about my proposed addition.

I couldn’t make heads or tails out of it, so I called my engineer. That’s when I found out that they are requiring additional surveys and a soil sample as well.

I’ve already spent nearly 20K to get to this point and I have zero to show for it so far. These two additional requirements are going to run me just over 5K.

So without an approval and I haven’t even broken ground yet I’m 25K in the hole. With no guarantee they even approve it.

Last night I called my buddy who is an engineer as well but in Colorado. We discussed what they wanted and why.

He could tell that I was wiped and a stressed out. Five minutes after we hung up he sent me this text. With the heading “Thought you could use a laugh”.

You have no idea what it been like. I’m ready to lose it. I’m hanging in there. Every time I turn around it’s costing me more money. I wouldn’t care as much if there was some progress but there’s not.

May I ask why you are going through these difficulties and spending money without any results for? Is it a house you are planning on building? It sounded like one.

Its wild the amount of permitting required to do something that should be simple. I am starting to think it is all viewed as revenue generation for the state, since they clearly can't manage to run on the massive amount of income taxes. Why would the state ever care about one out building.... they have too many employees... Hope it works out in your favor. !LUV !PIZZA
