Fractional gold….

Afternoon everyone….

While I would love to be able to add much more gold to my stack. It’s not that easy for me. But when it is possible I take full advantage of it.

A few weeks back I had just finished a rather big job I had signed. After paying all the bills and figuring out what bills were still coming in. There were some funds left for me to grab a little bit of gold.

Of course I’d much rather buy one ounce gold coins. But having that kind of money for me is nearly impossible. So I have to settle for a higher premium coin with the quarter ounce gold.

I’m not a big fan of the American Gold Eagle, so the fractional gold that I chose was a Canadian Maple Leaf coin. The best price on these was random year secondary market. So I was surprised to receive a mint sealed quarter ounce gold coin. Thank you Monument Metals.

Here she is….

A little bit of Canadian gold maple leaf coins:

Canadian Maple Leaf Coins made their debut in 1979, introduced by the Royal Canadian Mint. These coins were a strategic response to the growing demand for a pure gold investment option. With a gold purity of 99.9%, they quickly gained recognition for their exceptional fineness. In 1984 they changed to a .9999 fine gold coin.

They didn’t start producing fractional gold coins until 1994. They are the number one selling pure gold coin in the world currently.

Gold price is Canada broke the $4,000 CAD barrier an All Time High (ATM). This is why fractional gold plays a significant role. I don't expect my coin dealer, bank, or even my local Pawn broker to be always be liquid enough to buy my whole 1 Troy oz. gold coin.

On the other hand, the smaller denominations may have a higher premium for Investors to afford getting into this gold market. There me it took me almost two years to afford a 1 Troy oz. In that time, the price of gold appreciated much more than extra premium it'd cost me if I bought a half troy ozs.

Should gold continues to climb the way it has in the last 10 months, It would get better to get half and quarter oz denominations.

Great addition! With the price of gold it's really hard to add much on my budget these days! Maple Leaf is a great way to go!

I wish you a happy start to the week

4×9 FTW. Also here it skirts the value added tax that eagles have.
