Can you believe this is over 80 years old.

Afternoon everyone …..

Yesterday I showed off a gorgeous Walking Liberty half dollar that was in GEM condition.

Well today I’m going to top that with another one of my favorite coins. It’s a Winged Liberty dime. Many call them Mercury dimes, but when this coin was released in 1916 it was called Winged Liberty dime.

This dime is over 80 years old, but is better shape than most coins just leaving the mint.

This coin has been graded by PCGS as an MS67FB. The “FB” designation stands for “Full Bands”. This means that on the reverse of the coin, all three bands have distinct full bands. This is an important designation for its value.

Per the all of the coin books I’ve ever read. Less than 5% of all dimes struck had full bands straight from the mint.

This is a fairly common date with plenty minted. Yet in this grade with the FB designation the coin still sells for between $250-$300 right now.

Here is the lovely lady…

Another coin I absolutely love! Wow, great to see the full bands! That is truly a beautiful gem! It really is too bad that the dime these days has FDR, liberty was such a great design! MS67FB, what a great coin! Thanks for sharing!
