Drawing Itadori Yuji from Jujutsu Kaisen

Hello everyone!

It is a great pleasure to delve back into the world of art once again.

On this episode of drawing today, I will put my skills to the test and draw Itadori Yuji from the anime that I started watching some time ago: Jujutsu Kaisen. I've got to say, I am really enjoying it.

Itadori is a main character in Jujutsu Kaisen who is able to use cursed energy to defeat curses, which are some kind of monsters in the anime basically formed from negative emotions.

During an incident with a cursed monster, he was forced to swallow an item called a cursed object. This one wasn't an ordinary one, but one of the fingers of the king of curses called Sukuna.

Well, that's all I will say about the character before I end up using this entire post to ramble about the show instead. 😅

And this is the process of how I got the final work:

Normally, I would draw a sphere to start off with the head and then proceed to use the Loomis method to draw the rest of the head. But I wanted to try something different this time around. What I did now was that I tried simplifying the image into 2D shapes and then build up from there. First I did a pretty basic sketch then worked up from there.

I added in a bit of details and a few things that will act as place holders.

From there, I completed the final sketch.

Now the final sketch is complete, it's time to draw over everything with a pen. I used a regular ball point pen for this. I didn't know what expression to give him so I gave him a generic smile.

Finally, I added a bit more final details and some shading too.
