Dealing with boredom

Everyone experiences boredom at one point, and being an introvert, I've experienced it a countless number of times. It became necessary for me to have a coping mechanism because at some point I was depressed yet I still preferred staying indoors. So whenever I'm bored, I know what to do to catch a little fun or help me occupy my mind and time to shift my attention from the feeling of boredom. One of my coping mechanisms is "watch a movie". Movies are for entertainment, and they've really served their purpose when it comes to dealing with boredom. All I have to do is to make a selection of a genre of movie that interests me and once my eyes are glued on it, I can have the best time all by myself and laugh uncontrollably.

When I've exhausted all my movies and there's none for me to watch, I go out for a walk. I don't like to repeat movies except for those movies that are super interesting. Taking a walk has helped me overcome boredom as much as watching a movie. I don't need to do anything much, just take a walk down the street or to a favorite or popular spot and watch people or the activities going on there and I'll be fine in a few minutes.

Finally, chatting and listening to music has helped me manage boredom to some level. Chatting only works when there's someone interesting online else I resolve to listen to music and to have a good nap. Whenever I'm bored I prefer the danceable songs, just something to make me shake my body a little and if I'm taking a short sleep, then I go for the slow R & B songs. This manageable mechanism had been mentioned in their level of effectiveness. Movies work best for me, followed by taking a walk on the street, then chatting and listening to music. If one fails, the other would work and these had proven to be effective over the past years

Really, I don’t think I take a walk when I am bored but looks like I’ll be trying it out.

Yeah music and movies are way to kill boredom. I also don’t like repeating movies.

Sometimes I find it difficult to do any of the things you mentioned here, probably because I take comfort in peace, quietness and meditations...

But hehe how bored could a person really be

Yeah, people tend to be different.

And one can be Bored to the extent that everything looks tiring with little or no interest.

Introverts do not really like associating with people, so I was wondering how do you guys do it? But what I've found here is great, your phone tends to keep you company by singing for you and being ya television set
