Exploring New Decks #2: Steal Card Deception
Introduction
I'm back with my weekly post for Gods Unchained. This is my second post for exploring some new decks with Band Of The Wolf. Today I want to take a glance at the infamous steal cards Nether Deception deck which I think many people have seen. It's a fun deck to play in casuals.
My Deck & Analysis
I played a Mid-range steal card Nether deception deck. I tried playing this in ranked but it didn't go so well because everyone was spamming aggro to finish their daily play to earn. I found the deck to be super weak against aggro. It's better vs control as it takes time to set up and it's best against combo decks since you can steal their win condition example divine coronet. I also tried to make it all Nethers but there's many good Nether cards for early game in Deception/Neutral. Anyways I've tried many variations of this deck but couldn't seem to make it competitive enough for ranked play because it's really slow. It was able to beat a combo divine coronet deck and a mimic clone deck though which I think it counters the best.
1-2 Mana
Dark Precarion is a card mainly used to combo with Spore-Light Lantern. You can sleep a creature and pull it back to your hand to reuse the roar effect while pulling a card from enemy deck to your hand. Stoneskin Poison, Hunting Trap and Sleep Dart was just for stalling and creature removal. Beguiling Blade was to help stop aggro as well as get creatures into the void so it can activate Fallen Legion's ability. Deuteria, Manashard Mage, Netherborne Binder, Phase Crawler was a low cost Nether to help with Spore-Light-Lantern and Shrike Moonlighter as well as be possible opening turn 1 cards.
3-4 Mana
Blade Borrowers was another card to stall early aggro was well as get monsters into the void for Fallen Legion. Curious Wandercats was to help remove relic and it has good base stats for a 3 mana card. Shrike Moonlighter & Spore-Light Lantern are the cards that helped steal cards from the opponent's deck; these were ideally played on turn three if possible. Fallen Legion was for the double summon that can help proc Shrike's ability twice with the Ally.
5-7 Mana
Gama, Lord Of Berries was another card to steal cards from opponent by using the Nethers on the board to hit enemy god. Cutthroat Insight was to steal a card from an opponent's hand which came in handy at taking win conditions away from opponent. Rapture Dance was for enemy board removal. Witherfingers was for controlling and board rmeoval as well as being a solid monster at 7 mana to finish the game. You may have noticed I finally got Witherfingers but these were actually bought because I was tired of waiting to pull them from core packs. This card is also a core card in most control deception decks so I thought it would be good to have.
In conclusion, this deck is a casual fun deck to play but I don't think it's a deck that can be played competitive yet. It's lacking some early game Nether cards that will most likely be added in future sets. It would be awesome if Necroscepter could be used in this deck; I guess the only way to use it is if you steal it from someone playing zombie Nether. Anyways, that's all from me this week. I will be sharing a new deck using Band of The Wolf cards for next week!

Nice looking Deck but not so cheap. Do you think it is worth having 2 Deuteria's in your deck? They can be super powerful.
It's legendary you can only have one Legendary in the deck😜
oh man, thats a shame! lol. Good job I didnt buy a 2nd one then!!
lol I hope you didn't buy a second one. Don't tell me you've been playing this long and didn't know about the one legendary limit :P

I like your combo of Fallen Legion with the echo cards. Too bad we don't have echo nethers!
Yesss there needs to be more. There were some monsters with afterlife which could also summon nethers but I don't know man. Maybe future we will finally have a solid mil deck 😂
Gamma is such a crazy card! esp with so much hidden stuff. What's been the most fun steal you've done so far? Gotten any really high-end cards?
Divine coronet steal 😂. That was their win Condition. It's that chosen one deck where only divine coronet is the only monster.
Nice collection but I don't know about this game it seems like it is similar to Splinterlands.
You should try bro . It's more free to play than splinterlands
Wow, then it seems good. What about earning?
Earnings hard to say. I'm not sure how much free players make now 😥. But you can make a lot if you can get decent at the game
ok thanks
Your welcome
Beguiling Blade is a very pesky card (stealing twice by means of echo is a lot more irritating). I am always having a hard time beating steal deception decks.
🤔 hmmm you can't beat then join them 😂
Indeed (^_^)
Fallen Legion is amazing but I also couldn't find a competitive deck with them.
Thinking to try Midrange/Control Deception but I don't have Witherfingers and only 1 Ember Oni, etc.
I tested aggro Deception + new cards in last days.

For Solar, it seems to be fine. Let's see if I can get higher.
I keep testing (after several days of not playing at all).
Hey man. You're doing great with what you have. Ya I agree. I tried many different ways to fit Fallen Legion in and it's just not that good I guess. There's better 3 mana cost and it's too dependent on getting creatures in the void to get that extra value so if you end up drawing the card early it can be very bad. Your aggro deck seems good tho and it kind of has good mid to late game if you can pull good cards from your opponent.
