Introduction

I'm back with my weekly post for Gods Unchained. I wanted to try something different this week and it will be a series. One for each god. Basically this is my common cards only series. I also want to challenge you guys to make an only common deck and share it here in our Gods on Chain community! Feel free to surprise us and hey if you were able to do this challenge and I thought your deck was innovative, I will send you a common card from that god's domain. It's not much but hey you get to win something!

My Deck & Analysis

I played two games so far and was able to win both matches.

I played a common only nature deck. It's estimated price is a whopping $7 dollars! Fortunately for me for the nature god, I think there wasn't too many difficult choices for the cards. I picked Wild Hog, Black Jaguar and Vanguard Axewoman as the early 1-2 turn plays; these are probably solid commons that are seen in solid meta decks. Canopy Barrage was for creature removal. Vow of Champions was a flexible common that gave me two choices for doing 2 damage or healing my god for 4. Iron-tooth goblin was for relic rmeoval.

Ornery goat was for board pressure. I remember when this card was pretty solid in the past maybe two years ago. It was one of the best 3 mana creatures for nature but that's long gone now due to power creep. It did bring back memories playing this card. Staff of roots was for that blitz creature removal. Sword Breaker Sage was an extra card for relic removal; lately I keep running into decks that use annoying relics so I just added another one in case. Frenzied Ritual is probably one of the best commons in nature. It does 12 damage randomly to an opponent creature and your own creature but ideally you want to use this when your opponent has a super strong creature and you have no creatures; it also has a bonus of adding a random card to your hand. Barksworn Hunter was basically the free to play version of Underbrush boar that cost 2 more mana but also has the echo and is not confused.

Jaguar Staff was to remove creatures and add board presence at the same time. Guild Enforcer was to help slow down aggro decks. Brazen Moose was basically a card with good stats being 5 damage and 6 health for 5 mana. This is really good in my opinion. Then I had Enchanted Vines and The Hunt as my board control. Lastly, I have Charging Oryx to do a nice 7 damage to face or at a strong creature. This is probably the highest mana common that is good for nature; another alternative I considered was Albino Hydra. There were no good 8 mana or 9 mana spells or creatures for nature so I left Charging Oryx as my finisher.

It was really weird playing without some cards like lightning strike and underbrush boar. I guess you don't really realize how great it is to have some of those cards when you are using them all the time.

In conclusion, this deck is just a common card deck. Since I actually have a lot of common nature cards, I probably had better card choices than other players if they were to do this challenge. There are some strong commons like enchanted vines and frenzied ritual. I guess this series will let me have a hard look at what awesome commons I don't own and I may end up buying them.
