GETTING TO KNOW ME||MY INTRODUCTORY POST.

(Edited)

Hello World!
With a heart that beats for purpose and a mind that yearns for knowledge and understanding.
My friends call me Rose, but I am Sharon Agivye Embu, a 22-year-old finalist, 500 level, precisely from the Department of Medical Laboratory Science of the prestigious institution of learning named Federal University of Lafia, Nasarawa State, Nigeria, fondly referred to as “Where dreams come through,” a sound learning environment that teaches you morals and resilience in handling the challenges life comes with. But that’s not all; I’m a friend, a sister, a daughter, and a passionate advocate for quality healthcare.

Deducing from the name, I come from a Christian home that instills very high value for God, sound morals, education, compassion, and hard work. Growing up in the North Central Region of Nigeria, Nasarawa State, a culturally rich and diverse region of about 25 ethnic groups, home to a wide range of languages, including Eggon, Mada, Koro, Gbagyi, Gwandara, Kanuri, and lots more. I come from one of the majority ethnic groups, Eggon. From the family of Mr. & Mrs. Ibrahim Embu, more interesting is the intermarriage between my parents; my mother, whom I fondly call “Nmaaa,” is Igala by tribe from Kogi State of Dekina local government, and I must say a very passionate and compassionate retired nurse. My Dada is a retired agriculturist from Kagbu A of the Nassarawa Eggon local government area. I am the last of six siblings, consisting of two boys and 4 girls, amazing siblings.

As a dedicated and driven individual who grew up with high respect for education and having a father who values education this much, I began my primary education at ERCC Nursery and Primary School Nassarawa Eggon. I later moved to Akwanga, where my mom got transferred as a nurse, and there I got enrolled in St. Peters Nursery and Primary School Akwanga. There I became the pride of my teachers and parents due to my outstanding performance, all thanks to my loving parents, who always pushed me to do more, not relying on past victories. I pursued my secondary education at Federal Government Girls College Keana. It was quite a challenging one, having to meet with smart young ladies from different parts of Nigeria. It wasn’t a time to get discouraged; I embraced what was before me and did it afraid, though focused. I later emerged as the third overall best student, though I didn’t feel really fulfilled for coming out in overall third position, compiling all the arms my set had, ranging from A to E; I felt I should have done better to reach the peak, but anyways, I was proud of myself for trying and doing well. Oh! I failed to tell you how I always cried knowing I got less than 1st position then, but as I grew, I understood better, although my focus remains the peak. I later got transferred to Federal Government Girls College Langtang, Plateau State. It was my first time away from home; I resumed weeks late, was seriously lagging behind in my academic work, and wasn’t finding it easy to adapt to the new environment, but as usual, I couldn’t have failed to top the class again, but this time around I did it so well that I became the talk of the school, successfully graduated as the library prefect in 2019, and cleared my WAEC, NECO, and JAMB.

Gained admission to study Medical Laboratory Science, my course of choice; fast forward to now I look forward to contributing largely to diagnosing and managing diseases, as the scientist I’ll become in a couple of months to come. I’m passionate about having the power to transform lives with accurate test results and help people get the care they need—that’s what medical laboratory science means to me. I look forward to working passionately in hospitals and organizations like the World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, all in contributing to saving lives and addressing global health challenges. Sharing this, I’m so excited about how bright the future will be; despite the challenges, I remain resilient and eagerly pressing toward the mark. If one person can really make a difference, that will be me.

I am a young lady with limitless potential, and I have no doubt of achieving great things. I mostly love solitude and the peace it comes with, the thoughtful and reflective process giving me a time to recharge, refresh and connect with myself, the quiet comfort that comes with it brings me a sense of calm and contentment allowing me to relax and unwind, best of all, it improves my concentration and productivity. Notwithstanding, the schools I attended did well enough by teaching me how to adapt and relate courteously with people. I love learning and, as such, take every opportunity to learn via writing, reading books, listening to podcasts, chatting, watching television, browsing the internet, even listening to music, cooking, walking, working, and others, as all these improve my communication skills.

Got speaking with an awesome old friend of mine @bmhillel and was told about HIVE, got further details and clarity from @ovey10, thank you all for such an amazing offer, not just for earning but to also hone my writing skills. I’ve been grinning from ear to ear since he told me about this opportunity. I look forward to offering the best and to keep learning. I eagerly await the chance to connect and to explore potential opportunities.
Thank you.
Best regards,
Sharon Embu.

Welcome to the Hive community @sharon-embu!
We sincerely hope you find everything you are looking for and have found a new home here.

Seven suggestions to consider:

  1. Guard your passwords carefully, and only publish with the posting key,
  2. Use your active key only for wallet transactions, Keychain, Peaklock, and Hivesigner,
  3. The master password and the owner key are only used to reset compromised passwords,
  4. DO NOT lose your password or keys; copy and store offline,
  5. Do not publish other people's work, be it photos or written, without credit, and be sure to source all of your work, even if it is your own.
  6. An introduceyourself tag is used only once , and
  7. DO NOT OPEN any links in memos or comments that you do not know who they belong to. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is, so the old saying goes. There is nothing free here.

I found you because @brittandjosie and @jamerussell from @heyhaveyamet presented and promoted your publication to get more exposure and help you grow faster.

If you find yourself overwhelmed and need some guidance, or if you have any questions, there are informed Hiveans available who can help you; you can click to go to The Terminal in Discord here:

Have fun and happy Hiving!

This is an awesome first post. I look forward to hearing more about your story as you continue to educate those of us around the globe who have very little understanding of the diversity of cultures that Nigeria represents. I look forward to bringing my OTT Streaming platform to Nigeria. www.connecttoyourcity.com where we will feature shooting stars like you, on our tv networks.
