Phone Photography Contest - 18 : A journey by train
Greetings Hiveans and to all the members of this beautiful community. A short journey by train was a beautiful experience. If you have any such beautiful experience, kindly click this link and share your experience.
Actually it was a short visit to the University for an official work. And the journey was by train. A 2 hrs. journey from my place. Due to persistent rain, I was postponing my work. But then for two days the rain subsided, which was a blessing for my journey.
The little boy playing inbetween the seats.
It was an interesting train journey as our compartment was quite empty. A little boy was happily running up and down climbing over the railings fitted to the seatings, a lady was selling colourful keychains to attract the customers and as usual a chaiwala (a tea seller) with his tea.... how the 2 hrs. went was not known as we reached our destination.
On getting down from the train we were hunting for Indian Coffee house, a quite popular restaurant with good food at reasonable price. It was almost 11.00a.m. and so we ordered for coffee and vegetable cutlet. This restaurant was built during the British reign. Its structure is in narrow circular shape, like a lighthouse, with no steps but steep rise in circular form and the tables are fixed to the ground as we keep moving upwards. The floors are cemented with no windows, but small square holes are fixed across the narrow path, for the air to penetrate.
The waiters are in uniform with white shirt and white pants. And all are wearing a turban in their head. The serving is very fast. Nobody is kept waiting. I was imagining their plight as they are moving, up and down through the steep narrow path. So after our short meal we moved out to the University path.
Just a short distance from here by transport bus. It was my first visit to this University. On the entrance, I saw the huge statue of the founder. And too many direction signs, showing the different blocks in the campus which is easy for a layman like me, who visits the University for the very first time.

There was a huge tree inside the campus. To have a full view of the tree, at a stretch was not possible. The flowers were neatly arranged and bloomed, may be due to incessant rain it looked more beautiful. After completing my work, I captured few photos within the University and left.
On the way, to my disbelief, the rain which stopped for 2 days just lashed back heavily, that we couldn't walk on the road. The breeze was so strong pushing us to one direction, while we were moving to the other direction. Finally we reached the station and boarded our train. By Almighty's grace we reached safe and sound by 7.00 p.m..
So this was my short trip, you can say. Hope you enjoyed. All the photos were captured by me in my short journey.
Wishing you a great weekend. Thankyou for your time.

My place is full of greenery, to speak the truth. Thanks 😊
Train journeys are always fun also like that cafe, such windows are so common in villages. They still prefer to make such jharokhas instead of metal windows. Nice blog! :)
