I'm not sure how many quarts. My guess is 3 to 4 quarts. It usually feeds our family of four with leftovers for another day.

Idk about what a chicken soup would cost here. Have not bought a chicken in ages.
But I cook a vegetable soup for 16€ and it lasts our family of 2 for 2 days. So basically I pay double plus change.

I live in Austria. I would buy a half or a whole chicken if I would make a chicken soup. I know this way it takes longer but the taste actually is just so much better if you cook your own broth.A full chicken made in Austria cost 12 Euro

My wife and I have different tastes. I like the chicken whole. She prefers plain chicken breast. To me, the bones and skin add flavor to the broth.
