A Memorable Adventure to Sweden's Tallest Waterfall "Njupeskär"
It was our second day in Orsa. The morning looked very nice on the wooden terrace of our cottage. I woke up early to enjoy it. Today, we were going to see the tallest waterfall in Sweden with a reported cumulative height of 93m of which 70m was said to free fall, which is in Njupeskär National Park.
After breakfast, we drove from Orsa to Älvdalen, which took us about 2 hours. When we arrived at the entrance, we saw a sign that said we could reach the waterfall by walking on a 2 km trail. The weather was very pleasant but we could feel the light rain in the air.
We started off on a well-built wooden path to the waterfall but it soon gave way to a rocky and uneven path. The sound of running water over rocks produced a calming melody and the variety of bird sounds in the surrounding environment was like a symphony.
We walked deeper and deeper into the forest until we finally emerged at a location where we could see the waterfall for the first time.
We found that the placement of the wooden stairs made it easier for us to descend. However, we were amazed to find wooden bridges so close to the waterfall.
As we completed the wooden staircase, the reason became clear. The area near the waterfall was rugged and walking became challenging.
The 2-kilometer journey within the park wasn't a walk in the park but the scenic views along the way made it all worthwhile. Our tiredness vanished as soon as we saw the breathtaking waterfall.
Even during our hike, there was a light drizzle that came and went, our trip to Sweden's tallest waterfall was an amazing experience.

The waterfall is beautiful and the natural scenery is amazing. You and your family are also very beautiful.
I heard that in the summer when the first rays of the sun touch these mountains they turn all orange. I definitely want to see that next year.
Thank you so much ☺️
