Stock Photography is motivating me to create more

Fresh New images for the Portfolio

One of the good things about starting this new journey in stock photography is that will "force" me to get out there, or just simply grab the camera and photograph more.

Because lately the creativity and motivation to do that have been really low, this will be a way to get that back and create some new works.

When it comes to get new stock photography it is also a little bit different from just street photography specially if you want to create commercial photos.

You would want to create timeless images that can be licensed and bought over and over again for a long period of time.

The mindset behind creating those images is also different and that is something that I will need to practise and get used to. Because although any image can sell, if you have in mind what people might be looking for your chances to get sales might improve.

These series of photos are part of some of the images I have taken having in mind my stock photography Portfolio, this was my first walk and straight after I decided I wanted to start.

It has only been a couple of weeks and I have already learned so much more about the world of stock photography and looking at these images I would probably create them differently. Nothing wrong with them, I like the photos but I see that the majority of them might not be great sellers.

But that is the fun part when you are learning something new. Specially in that initial period there is always room for improvement.

But now I know a lot more about it and the next time I decide to take the streets to capture images to add to my portfolio, I know they will be very different from how I usually photograph them.

And if they look similar I know I need to look for a different concept.

Some unexpected good news, is that, today, I got my first image licensed and I was not expecting it at all. I thought it was going to take months for that to happen.
It was a very low amount but still, was more than if I just had the image here on a drive.

I will keep sharing photos here with you and also some more information on how the process is going. And in case you want to start your stock photography journey. Do a lot of research first. And remember, it is a lot of time and a lot of work to get started and probably for the long run.

I hope you have enjoyed this update and also this series of images. I have enjoyed a lot creating them and still have some more from this day to come out and share with you. So keep your eyes open for more updates.
