Rooster And Hens
Hello everyone! 😎🐓
My mother has 12 hens and a rooster, for the eggs of course. During the day they roam freely in the garden, but in the evening, or when it starts to get dark, they go to sleep in the coop.
A couple of days ago I had another small job at my mother's house (as usual, she always engages me in this kind of work...) and I had to mow the part of the garden where the chickens are.
Hens are shy but curious animals and as soon as I turned up with the mower one showed up.
A few minutes later, another one appeared. They started to examine the grass cuttings very eagerly as if there really was something better than the corn and fruit scraps that my mother gave them at least twice a day.
The hens devour everything they see, from plant seeds, fruit, insects, and fungi, and I have seen some small snakes and lizards end up in their beaks.
I wonder if people would still eat eggs after seeing what they eat...
And the big boss and his female companions came along and accepted the lead role.
Well, I kept on mowing, but the chickens were getting more and more annoying. It was not enough for them to just watch me from a distance, but they would come up and walk in front of the mower, even though it was very noisy.
My mother would certainly not have liked it if I had cut one of them.
Anyway, the chicken soup is very good :) 😋
I stopped the lawnmower and caught them so they ran away.
But when I started to mow again, they came back.
And so on until dusk, when I'd finished and they'd run off to the coop :)
Well, that's the story.
I actually have nothing against chickens, I appreciate them very much, especially in this form 😋
Keep having fun and thank you for your attention.

Well, one of my favorite food :)
Really? This is my first time hearing yaht hens are shy. I will also make my findings and the pictures are so cool. You're making me feel like eating chickens...lol
They are usually timid, but when they get used to it, they get annoyed. The last picture is more for appetite. 😋
Roosters an be aggressive and they can do damage with those spurs, but I never mind having the hens around. They are not at all afraid of my mobility scooter, but it is quiet, not noisy like a mower! Your mom has brave chickens!
