My first collage in 220 series. Let's Make a Collage - A Contest for All Creatives on Hive - Round 220 - ✨100 HIVE in the Prize Pool!
It's a short story about a mermaid who, probably without knowing how, finds herself in an abandoned drainage canal, looking for a way out to sea.
She took some time to rest.

The creation process
I created the collage using Photoshop.
I've taken the base image as a background and used various filters.
Then, I took some objects from the LMAC gallery, processed them, and placed them on the background in layers.

The feet in the boat was a surprise as I didn't immediately see it, focusing on the tree and fish out of water. What an unusual scene, but I love the sailor in the boat. He almost reminds me of Super Mario. Nice theme.

A fun collage! Departure from some of your more grotesque images. And yet you have a little element of the grotesque--the fish impaled on the crooked tree. Interesting contrast to the beguiled sailor. :)
You've made a good point 😎 I've tried to keep the grotesque to a minimum, but obviously I can't get out of my skin.
Your comic style collage is beautiful, colorful, that combination of photo and drawing is excellent
Thank you. I always try to combine different techniques. I find that it gives a confident impression of authenticity and surrealism. But that's just my opinion.
