LMAC197: Diversity
Hello everyone! ππ·
Sunday is my day for collages and here's entry to the Let's Make a Collage - A Contest for All Creatives on Hive - Round 197 - 45 HIVE in the Prize Pool!
What did I want to see in the base image?
Today's collage is about biodiversity, especially birds. Did you know that there are over 13,000 protected areas in the world dedicated exclusively to birds? These are called Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas (IBAs) and are developed and managed by BirdLife International as a global partnership of non-governmental organizations that are dedicated to the conservation of birds and their habitats. Well, I imagined an islet close to the shipping lanes of the big ocean-going trading ships. Two of them have even stopped, and people are on them to observe this nature reserve. There are a lot of different birds on it, but they are only here occasionally because there is not much food, so let's say it's a resting place for them, and then they fly on.

The creation process
I made the collage in Photoshop.
First, I created a background from the base image. I removed everything except the rocks and water and added the ships and the cloudy sky.
All the other objects, the birds, I processed first and then added to the background in layers.
Hope you have fun!

Your island of nesting birds looks great. I think the collage stands a good chance in the contest and I wish you luck. Happy Sunday.
Thank you for your good wishes and happy Sunday to you, too.
Your collage looks great
I love the different shades of birds
Thank you. Otherwise, I should have made them more contrasting or changed the color of the rocks.

It does look barren. Sort of suggests that we can try to manipulate the environment artificially, but we cannot duplicate nature.
Today and yesterday I visited the shore and saw flocks of birds sitting on the shore. They were all facing the sun. Geese (not Canada) and seagulls. The one thing I didn't see them doing is eating. I wondered, what do they eat at this time of year? Where are the fish? Are there insects? There must be food somewhere, or, like the birds in your collage, they would move on.
Thanks for using LIL images, @seckorama. Good luck this week.
You are right. Yes, I think these environmental NGOs care about food. Probably not everywhere, because somewhere there is enough food.
The result of the collage is looking amazing
Thank you. It's about the diversity. π
Always love seeing places reserved for conservation of birds and their habitats.
Thanks for including my lil images of the birds. π I just looked out my back deck and see there is a mΓ©nage of birds and a squirrel enjoying the seeds I leave out for them. We had a huge snowfall and Hubby had to shovel a spot for them to land.
