Deep Into Autumn
All seasons are beautiful, and each has characteristics and details that fascinate us - well, at least me.
Autumn is the time of year when the leaves turn shades of yellow, red, and brown. It is a golden age, ripe like all fruits, proof that nature changes in cycles. The days are getting shorter, the temperatures are dropping, and chlorophyll is no longer being produced.
It's a time of transformation and preparation for a new era.
I reflect on these changes in my autumn walks as I walk through the rustling fallen leaves. As children, we used to collect colorful leaves enthusiastically.
Now, they are a symbol of passage and change. After this, all we have to look forward to is the silence of winter and maybe snow.
Such autumn walks are always a time for introspection. I have lived through many autumns, and lately, I have been feeling increasingly melancholy, wondering how long I will continue to experience this season.
But this is a sign of a new chapter and a time to reflect on what is really important in life and what I still want to achieve.
As I got older, I became more aware of the transience of everything, including the seasons. But if everything is fleeting, what counts?
In my youth, autumns were infinitely long, but in my current reality, each autumn is shorter and faster.
Does this time pass so quickly, or does it just seem that way from my perspective?
Impermanence is the only constant. So, dwelling on the past or worrying about the future is entirely unnecessary.
The here and now is all that counts. Autumn reminds me of this at every turn.
When we observe the beauty of the moment, the autumn colors, the rustling of leaves underfoot, and the changing colors, it is much easier to face our impermanence.
The next time I walk like this, I may have found the answers to all these thoughts. Or maybe not.

This is a very beautiful photo-essay! I feel like you, your words expressed exactly what I reflect in my autumn walks. Time passes quickly and faster year by year.
Thank you. Yes, in autumn, I always get this kind of melancholy...
Me too. It's a melancholic season and the road to winter, with less light every day, makes it easier to feel nostalgic.
It's the same for me. The worst is when it's not very cold, when it's a bit breezy, and when leaves are flying on all sides at dusk. This feeling of melancholy is almost like pain.
It's not a good time for those of us who tend to melancholy. Before I thought winters were worse and it's like you say, worse when the cold is still not so present. If I could I would hibernate like bears do, hidden until spring. 😂
That's a good idea, to hibernate. 👍

For me, autumn is the best time of the year. Although spring is splendid, autumn is not far behind with the beautiful colour of the leaves and a constantly pleasant temperature.
The colors are beautiful, I agree. But if it's rainy and cold than I don't like it.
