Beer Tasting: Alpirsbacher Klosterbräu Pils and Günzburger Rad-Weizen
Hello, beer lovers! 🍻
How do you feel? Have you made your vows and plans? Will this year bring any changes to your life, or will you go with the flow and struggle as usual?
The celebrations here were nothing special, like every year so far. First, a family dinner, then the kids went off to their parties; my wife and I had a glass of champagne, we toasted to good luck and good health, and by one o'clock, I was asleep :)
I have a few more beers in the fridge, and for 392 #beersaturday, I'll be happy to open two German bottles.
First, the one with less alcohol.
Alpirsbacher Klosterbräu Pils
Brewed by Alpirsbacher Klosterbräu, Alpirsbach, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
Bottle, 0,33 l, alcohol 4.9% ABV, IBU 28.
It's a Pils or Pilsener-style beer with balanced German malt, hops, and floral and herbal aromas.
What do the Master Brewers say?
The taste profile is crystal clear, sunny yellow with a creamy head. Fruity, fresh hop aromas are in the foreground. An elegant body is followed by a concise, delicately bitter hop bitterness.
🍺
The beer is yellow, with a solid and creamy head. It smells of hops. The first sip goes down the throat smoothly. At the same time, I taste the sweetness of the malt and the bitterness of the hops, which dominate more and more, as well as the aromas of various herbs and pine.
The bitterness of the hops lingers in the aftertaste for a while, but everything else quickly disappears.
A drinkable and refreshing beer. It is an excellent pils with a more pronounced bitterness than the classic, which I like. I would drink another one in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, I'll stick to this one. Not available here, I got it from Kalea Beer Box.
Let's move on.
Günzburger Rad-Weizen Naturtrüb
Brewed by Radbrauerei Gebr. Bucher, Günzburg, Bavaria, Germany.
Bottle, 0.33 l, alcohol 5.3% ABV, IBU N/A.
It's Weissbier or Hefeweizen, a German wheat beer with banana and clove yeast aromas.
What do the Master Brewers say?
Our Rad-Weizen Naturtrüb comes with the typical fruity aroma of Günzburger wheat beers and, thanks to our special Günzburger pure yeast, with a beautiful, even cloudiness. The special malts used not only ensure a strong color, but also a particularly full-bodied taste.
🍺
The beer is cloudy golden, and the head is considerable, creamy, and persistent. It smells of ripe bananas. A sip goes down the throat smoothly, and I taste the sweetness of malt, banana, cloves, and caramel on the palate.
The sweetness and a hint of bitterness linger in the aftertaste for some time.
A drinkable and juicy beer. It's a pure wheat classic. I could eat those bananas. It's been a while since I've had a wheat beer with such a pronounced banana and caramel flavor. And it wasn't at all disturbing. It was like a delicious dessert.
I'm not a fan of wheat beers because it's tough to balance them so that something extreme doesn't stand out, but I quite liked this one.
Of course, I would love to have another one, which is not possible. There was only one in the Kalea Beer Box :(
And what am I listening to when tasting beers and writing this? Nothing from my #newtunes post because I didn't write it. I took a break. One Finnish band that still has a lot to say. #psychedelicblackmetal

Thank you for your attention.
And finally, today, a reward question:
In the opening image of the post, there is a device behind the beer in the background.
What would that be?

From the zipper I would say it is a motor. Now it's hard to tell from what. ?

Generally I'm not a fan of wheat beers either but that one does sound good. I like it when natural banana flavors come though in beer and spirits. I'd give that one a try 😄
I think that machine is a motor of some sort but I don't know what it would be for. A snowblower maybe? Not sure if you have those where you're from
I agree. Perfect banana flavor in beer. Usually too much and/or intensified with some cinnamon, which I don't like. But this one is just the right one for me.
Yes, that's an engine of something, but not a snowblower. It's a bit too big for this 😎
