Taking A Breath - Monomad Challenge
Hail to the Hive!
This has happened tome before, where I let outside schedules and hecticness get in the way of my creative outlet. Hectic?! on the Canals I hear you cry. Well let me tell you it has been. Traveling back and forth to the boat by train, jusggling 2 jobs and moving the boat on my off days. But on this evening, after a lovely BBQ by the canalside, the scenery made me pause and take a breath, take a moment and allow myself to get re centred.
I sat there gazing at it for a while sipping a post BBQ cold beer, reached for my camera,a nd started taking shots from different angles, noting the reflections and the signage of the boat, the line. I was lost in the moment and my creative spark was re lit.
I only thought it had been a week or 2 since my last post and was shocked that I'd allowed myself to be so consumed in the routine I was in that I had neglected this creative outlet for so long. Apologies to all you Hivers I connect with on here, I will do my best to not get too distracted again.
But it hammered home to me just why I love this platform. It's my favourite space for expression, for creativity and to just type things down and let my mind empty. It's a creative and cathartic space this platform that we share. It's possibilities are incredible.
So back I am after a month and it feels good. I have alot of travels to catchi you all up on since I last posted and our New Narrowboat 'Cygnet' has covered a considerable distance at it's breaknet speed of 3mph!!
This is indeed a reminder that it is important to stop once in a while, even mentally, and take stock of where you are, what is happening and how you feel. You might miss something very important!
Like this view 😃
The same thing happens to me with work, but I try not to neglect this, because as you say it is a favorite space for expression and creativity :) It's a wonderful place with great shots, amazing reflections and a dramatic sky.
Have a great start of the week @scubahead friend!
Thanks @dimascastillo90. Glad I'm not alone in this. I always feel super bad when I allow this to happen.
It's normal, but we love being here, it's our favorite place, right? I hope I can continue enjoying your texts and your shots :)
Likewise! More to come shortly 😌
Head in the clouds...
