The flower (a fairy tale)

They hid under the silky white petals. Hoping against hope that the bee would not notice them, the fairies tried to hide their red, shiny dresses under the folds of the petals. They were sure that the bee would shout to the pixie if it found them sneaking away.

The fairies had made a promise to the pixie that they would give him the shiny red stone that they had found near a stone one day in exchange for some magical spells. The pixie was very greedy and had told them that he would give them the spells if he were given the stone first and they came to know that he had already made a deal with a wizard and they did not want to part with the stone for nothing.

The pixie had given a search warning for the fairies and had asked the bees to look out for them. In return, the bees were promised a garden full of beautiful flowers. The fairies had come to know of all this because of their loyal friend, the little blue bird. The bird knew that the fairies were very kind and helpful and did not want them to suffer at the hands of the pixie.

The little blue bird had once been a human who was transformed into a bird by the wizard and the pixie because he did not allow them into his kingdom. The bird was in search of a flower in the woods that would help him get back his form without any delay. When the fairies came to know of this story, they promised to help the bird and went in search of the flower. When they were searching for it, the bee happened to come near and they hid beneath the petals.

Now, the bee was very stupid. It talked to itself and gave away the information about the flower that would help the bird get back its human form. The fairies listened carefully and after the bee left, they went with the help of their wings and flew to the wonderful land of the flowers where they befriended another fairy and came to know that the flower was in the middle. They had to go carefully to avoid small ants that were really powerful. The fairies made it somehow and successfully collected some flowers and placed them carefully in the bags that were made of leaves. The grandma frog had sewn it for them when they said they were leaving.

They reached the bird's nest and knocked on the door. The bird was not feeling very hopeful because he knew that fairies were very gentle and there would be many obstacles but to his surprise, the fairies gave him the flower and as instructed by them, chewed the petals and waited.

Lo, the bird disappeared and there appeared a handsome prince. The fairies and the frogs were very happy that they could help the prince regain his form. Now, he could return to his family and his kingdom. The prince thanked the fairies and invited them all to his kingdom and they happily bade goodbye to the dangerous woods where the wizard and the pixie also lived.
