Packs or cards? Rebellion thoughts

If you are a Splinterlands player/gamer, chances are that you will have heard about Rebellion - the presale and the release on December 5 and the general sale on the same date.

I have bought a few packs and I hope the upcoming bull run will allow me to buy more presale packs as I believe that the presale packs contain more good cards. It is my idea however to buy single cards too to increase my collection over time.

Meanwhile, I am trying to raise my rating on the modern format. I am able to play in the gold league in the wild format and there is no dearth of opponents which is why I am concerned about the cry for no bots in the wild too. Bots do ensure that you are able to play without waiting much unless we experience an influx of new players. I am sure that if we spread the word to actual gamers, we might get real-time gamers who do not bother only about ROI.

Why is it imperative that we get good gamers who are interested in the game rather than making money? It is because real gamers are more interested in the development of the game. Splinterlands is a great game with vision and with the proper gamers, it can go on to become the greatest one ever developed.

With Rebellion's release, comes new rulesets, new cards, and new combinations that will ensure an easy win but to be able to get that easy win over an opponent, you will have to have that card that will give you an advantage. For a gamer, it is always the game first and not the money aspect. It is the kick one gets from winning a battle that matters most and not the return on investment. The more good and better players arrive, the more livelier the markets will be and there would be nothing to stop the success of the game. All those who are salty and negative now will of course return to talk sweetly. That is to be expected, I suppose but the key step is to now bring in the young gamers and for that to happen, the mobile version has to be improved drastically.

With the exit of the Untamed version from the modern format, we can say goodbye to the known combos such as the Llama-Kron and hope to experiment with new ones and the real human players who are new can safely play without having to deal with the costlier legendaries from the previous editions.

If you are planning to buy single cards, it would be wiser to buy single magic cards first as magic is always powerful. Then, you should also look into the summoners because that is what could change the game and decide if it is stronger than the present soulbound summoners that can summon the legends like Quora and Team. The inclusion of the gladiator cards was indeed a blessing to players like me who could not afford the legendaries from the previous editions, of course.
