A simple crochet rose - steps to make it

Today, I am going to share how to make a rose with the help of crochet. it may seem so difficult when you start to make it but it is really simple and doable.

I took some photos and also joined them as a video for my own reference actually because the pattern can be forgotten and then a slight mistake could lead to a different result. As of now, I made two roses. One in pink and one in red. The flowers are so beautiful and if you are an expert, you could make one flower within minutes.

Valentine's day is nearing and you can use your skill to make a bouquet and either gift it or sell it. I do hope you try this out and if you are an expert in making flowers, please excuse me because I am just learning all over again and wanted to record it on the blockchain. I too can refer it once in a while.

Materials

Yarn - any type or ply
Crochet hook
Yarning needle
Scissors

I did think about inserting a bead in the middle of the flower but I did not have any at hand. So, I just left it. I hope to buy some later so that I can use them for various projects.

Make 31 chains for a medium flower. Plus 5 chains extra. If you want a bigger flower, make 61 chains plus the 5.

Do a double crochet in the sixth chain

After this step, skip 2 chains, and double crochet in the third chain. Then do three chains and again double-crochet in the same space to make a V shape.

Complete the row of V-shaped double-crochet

Chain 3, Turn over, 5 double crochet in the first V space. The third chain is the first double crochet and this is considered as a total of 6 double crochet. The first two V spaces should have 6 double crochet thus.

First - 6 double crochet
Next till the second last - 8 double crochet
The last two should have ten double crochet
This is to make sure the petals that come below be wider and seen from the bottom.

Pull out the hook and cut the yarn leaving a long bit to sew in the petals. Fold from the start and make sure the petals are tightly folded to form a flower and then use a yarn needle to sew from the base thus forming a flower. You can insert beads or whatever in the middle.

These flowers can be joined to form a bouquet or be sewn into bags or frocks. Even headbands for children or hats. It is all up to your imagination and innovation. Just remember to make the sewing bit a bit tidy so that it is not too shabby. You can always rework it to get perfection.
