A fantasy story (for children)
The three girls were very excited. They were going all alone into the forest. Never had they traveled alone before. They did not know how their parents had given permission to go without any adults accompanying them. In fact, it was strange that they never even objected once when the girls had told them about the trip into the forest to collect samples for their biology project.

Sam, Meera, and Lydia. They were very good friends and stood for one another through thick and thin. They were studying together in the sixth grade. Their biology teacher had asked them to collect samples of certain plants for a school project. While their classmates had gone to local nurseries, they wanted the real deal. They decided to go to the nearby woods to collect the sample. They had mentioned it to their parents and all of them agreed.
Sam was a tomboyish character and knew how to protect the other two. She took a bag from her room and put in candles, matchsticks, a torch, a radio set, and some food. Meera took a bag that contained empty plastic covers to carry back home the samples that they would collect. Lydia took some rope, a mobile phone, and water to drink. All three bade goodbye to their parents and walked off toward the forest.
They still wondered why their parents did not even offer to accompany them. Come to think of it, their parents had never objected, unlike the others whom they had seen doing so when their mates had requested to go alone. The girls did seem a bit apprehensive about going alone. Of course, they were little girls after all. What would you expect?
Sam, led the way. Meera and Lydia walked along trying to keep up with Sam's speed. After a while, they entered the thick bushes. The girls then started to collect some leaves and flowers that the teacher had mentioned. All the samples were carefully placed inside the covers and kept inside the bag. They then sat down to drink some water and eat the biscuits. They heard a flapping sound and looked around. The leaves of the plants nearby started to glow all of a sudden. The girls looked alarmed and got up to run when all of a sudden, they were surrounded by hundreds of tiny flying objects that looked like bees. The 'flying objects stood before them in an instant and when they looked to see what it was, there stood their parents but not as humans but fairies. Their parents smiled at them and flapped their golden wings. The children were too astonished to speak or even move. They sat down and the parents came near and stroked their hair. Sam's mother took out her wand and created a table and brought forth many delicacies and invited the girls to have a taste.
All this was too much for the girls who now found their voice and talked at once asking the parents what this all was and how they were like this. Lydia's dad spoke for the rest and told the girls that they had been fairies all along but had to behave like humans so that the children would understand how the world was until they were wise enough and also to awaken their powers. The girls looked at one another and then the realization dawned on them.
Would they be able to fly also?
They looked excitedly towards their parents who smiled and waved the wands at them and suddenly all of them grew wings but they did not become small as their parents had. Meanwhile, the other fairies started eating the goodies. The girls took a bite and then felt a strange sense of happiness come over them.
They became the happiness fairies. The world awaited the magic of their wands. To spread happiness, joy, and cheer.

This story is worth reading. Maybe you could publish it for kids.
Now I’m asking myself if fairies are real.😅
I think they might be real.
Thank you so much. I would love to do that.
