Card Review
Prons
Has large health and magic damage even at level 1.
Magic attacks can bypass most armor and directly damage opponent health.
Magic units can attack at any position.
Cons
Has huge mana cost.
Speed is average.
Nerissa Tridawn is an Epic magic splinter from the Water Element. It has huge health and magic damage even at level 1 and as we know, magic can mostly bypass armors, directly damaging the health of the opponent. As a magic unit, Nerissa Tridawn can attack regardless of the position and unlike most range cards, it can still attack at the 1st position. Combined with the huge health, this card can also be a decent tank specially on rule sets that bands melee cards or only magic cards can be used. But with high health and damage comes a huge mana cost and it does have an average speed.

For this battle, summoner abilities cannot be used due to Silenced Summoner rule set but range monsters gets the also now have Close Range.which allows them to attack even at the 1supst position. Thinking of this conditions, I choose the following line- up:
The Summoner Kelya Frendul though because his abilities are disabled, his use for this battle is so that it can summon water splinters which can also be done with a dragon summoner but since I was only going to use water monsters, I choose this card.
I used Baakjira as my tank for it has large health and can Heal while also reducing damage from magic attacks with Void and reducing the speed of the opponent team with Slow.
For the 2nd position, I placed the Djinn Oshannus, as a secondary tank for it also has huge health and can reduce magic damage with Void but it also has the Forcefield which reduces damage from attacks with 5 or more damage. It is a magic monster that is very fast so it has high chance to evade melee and range attack but it also has the ability to evade magic attacks using Phase.
The 3rd position, I placed Nerissa Tridawn which is the featured monster of this week's battle challenge to drop huge magic damage to the opponent and with huge health, it can also be used as a tertiary tank when both Baakjira and Djinn Oshannus got defeated.
For my 4th card, I used Deeplurker that can target the monster with the lowest health with Opportunity and deal an instant -5 damage on it's health as well as to Poison the opponent for another -2 damage every round. It also has the Demoralize ability which reduces melee damage of the opponent team.
On the 5th position, I used Angelic Mandarin that although has small damage, has the Triage ability and heal any back- line monsters that received damage.
The last member of my team will be Wave Brood with Taunt ability makes the opponent attacks target this card instead, making it healed then by Angelic Mandarin It also has Void so magic attacks gets reduced and if range monster attacks instead, it got the Return Fire ability to deal reflected damage to them.
Battle Phase
Round 1:
Both team has Taunt but despite that, the opponent has received more damage since mine got healed by Angelic Mandarin and Nerissa Tridawn has landed huge magic damage plus the Return Fire damage Wave Brood dealt on Supply Runner.
Round 2:
The opponent's Wave Brood was beaten by Djinn Oshannus at the start of the round but it was Resurrect by River Hellondale so it was up to Angelic Mandarin to beat it a second time then it was followed by Deeplurker beating Supply Runner. Now that the Taunt was gone, Nerissa Tridawn can now attack the front causing Diemonshark to lose half of it's health though it also leads to his damage increasing due to Enrage.
Round 3:
After receiving another 3 damage from Djinn Oshannus, Diemonshark has gone into rampage and dealt a huge 6 damage to Baakjira, defeating it then goes to Trample but only inflict 1 damage on Djinn Oshannus because it has Forcefield. After that, Diemonshark got beaten by Nerissa Tridawn. the opponent's Carnage Titan then took on the front dealing 8 damage to Djinn Oshannus attacking twice.
Round 4:
As Djinn Oshannus has now the lowest health on my team, it becomes the target for Dragon Jumper but since it got 5 damage, it is only dealing 1 due to the Forcefield meanwhile, the combination of magic attacks from Djinn Oshannus and Nerissa Tridawn depleted the health of Carnage Titan an now only 2 opponent monsters were left.
Round 5 and 6
The match could have ended on round 5 as River Hellondale got beaten by Angelic Mandarin and it will only be Dragon Jumper that was left but it was able to evade the attack from Deeplurker where if it hits, the attack from Nerissa Tridawn will end the match but since it's not, Dragon Jumper was left with 2 health at the end of this round while stunning Djinn Oshannus making it unable to attack the next round.
And finally, the match ends here but Dragon Jumper were able to beat Djinn Oshannus as the effects from the Demoralize of Deeplurker was taking effect as there is no more River Hellondale to provide Inspire. Though it could got away until being attacked by Nerissa Tridawn cause Angelic Mandarin miss but Deeplurker was able to hit it this time and end the battle with 3 monsters at perfect health on my team.
Battle Recap
Here is a replay of the battle which at you can watch at 3speak or in Splinterlands.
Did your Strategy Work?
Summoner abilities were disabled on this match but it does not really affect the performance of Nerissa Tridawn on dealing huge magic damage on the opponent leading and was the major damage dealer for this match, giving the final blow on two monsters.
Do You Like Nerissa Tridawn
Despite not having any abilities, Nerrisa Tridawn is an ideal card to have because of her magic attack. It can attack at any position and can just pass most armors. Its huge health can also make it as a decent tank specially when when melee monsters cannot be used.
What will you try differently next time?
Summoners
Because we have a magic unit here, the ideal summoner to partner to it were those that gives magic boost to it so it would be great to use it with Alric Stormbringer or Valnamor for water summoner and Delwyn Dragonscale and Archmage Arius for Dragon.
