Exploring the Chaos: Core Life Legendaries
Introduction
Hi! @saydie here playing Splinterlands everyday!
This is Exploring the Chaos where I take a look on Chaos Legion core cards including their subsets such as Riftwatchers and the Reward cards, as they brought new abilities and strategies that changes how the game was played.
It's been more than 3 months since the last Exploring the Chaos and as a refresher, the topic for last time was about the core Earth legendary cards of Chaos Legion and this time, I will be talking about the core legendary cards of the Life element which contains 1 summoner and 3 units.

Core Legendary Life Cards In Action
Battle 1: Soul Fiend
Conditions | Description |
---|---|
Diamond League Modern Format | 17 Mana Cap Available Elements: Fire, Life, Death, Earth, Dragon Link: https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sl_f03d3b910bbfaa1726d55d09af8e6be3&ref=crimepoet |
Taking Sides | Neutral Monsters may not be used in battles. |
Stampede | The Trample ability can trigger multiple times per attack if the trampled Monster is killed. |
Holly Protection | All Monsters have the Divine Shield ability. |
This battle only has 17 mana where we cannot use neutral monster due to Taking Side but all mosnters get the Divine Shield ability with Holy Protection and for those with Trample ability, they can attack once again when they defeat their target due to Stampede.
The legendary card that I used in this battle was Soul Fiend which has a big help in regards with low mana battles since it does not consume any mana and though it does not have much health, it can serve as damage sponge to protect my other monsters from being attacked like in this battle where it became the target of Celestial Harpy but also was a melee monsters so there is a chance that it can also inflict damage in some situations.
Battle 2: Uriel the Purifier and Adelade Brightwing
Conditions | Description |
---|---|
Diamond League Modern Format | 57 Mana Cap Available Elements: Life, Dragon Link: https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sl_974dfb76c0e48f74cd1103227a4b0b7e&ref=bltzr-wizard-726 |
Briar Patch | All monsters have the Thorns ability. |
Are You Not Entertained Yet? | One additional Gladiator card may be used in battles. |
On this battle, there was a bigger mana cap where the active rulesets where Briar Patch which give all monsters the Thorns ability and Are You Entertained Yet which makes 1 Gladius card useable in ranked battle.
With Adelade Brightwing on this battle, all my monsters have increased their speed by +1 and every turn, it restores the armor of Uriel the Purifier with repair which takes armor damage either through the opponents attacks or when it attacks due to the thorns given by the Briar Patch ruleset. At the same time, it can also revive an ally monster that was defeated on battle which in this battle was meant to be Iziar but due to some RNG damage, it was did not happen though, its increased speed and repair greatly helps to prevail on this battle.
Meanwhile, although there is Briar Patch and Uriel the Purifier would take damage from Thorns damage, I still choose this card given that it has huge amount of armor and health. At the same time, it has the Heal ability that can sustain the damage it receives and the Recharge also helps to limit the damage it sustain since it was only attacking every second turn.
Battle 3: Grandmaster Rathe
Conditions | Description |
---|---|
Diamond League Modern Format | 29 Mana Cap Available Elements: Fire, Water, Life Link: https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sl_4edcb32706db12d9c7f6da0f42b31fa0&ref=crimepoet |
Equal Opportunity | All Monsters have the Opportunity ability. |
Reverse Speed | Monsters with the lowest Speed attack first and have the highest chance of evading attacks. |
What Doesn't Kill You | All Monsters have the Enrage ability. |
This 29- mana match comes with Equal Opportunity that gives the Opportunity ability on all monsters and What Doesn't Kill You which give the Enrage ability on all monsters though with Reverse Speed, the slower monster gets to attack first.
I used Grandmaster Rathe as my summoner which gives Void armor so that magic attacks need to reduce all the armor of the target first before they can damage the health which makes it harder to defeat my monsters and at the same time, it has Amplify which increases the damage from reflected damage which in this case was the Thorns from Dumacke Orc and Magic Reflect from Pelacor Conjurer.
Final Thoughts
For the Life set of legendary monsters in Chaos Legion, the cards that I most often used was Adelade Brightwing since it was really good to use both on Earthquake and Noxious Fumes ruleset together with its ability to increase speed and repair armor which works in good combination with Grandmaster Rathe. Most of all, it can also revive an ally monster once which really do its wonders specially on Martyr play.
That was all for this post and see you on the next one!
