Introduction

Hi! @saydie here playing Splinterlands everyday!

This is Exploring the Chaos where I take a look on Chaos Legion cards including their subsets such as Riftwatchers and the Reward cards, as they brought new abilities and strategies that changes how the game was played.

For the latest series of my review, I finally have the opportunity to take a deep dive on the core Chaos Legion set after finally being done with the rewards and subset so I started with the core commons, beginning with Fire and Water and for this week, I will be reviewing with the core cards of the Life Element.

All Monsters have the Rebirth.png Rebirth ability.

For this 25 mana battle, I used Gargoya Scrapper with the remaining mana left since I have used a more mana hungry summoner and cannot fill my entire monster slot aside from it but placing it at front allows it to be a damage sponge for enemy attacks before the enemy can attack my main monsters and since it got the Void ability, it only receives 2 damage from Time Mage which originally has 3 magic damage.

Battle 2: Sunkai Harvester and Stitch Leech

fire-regret.png
Fire and Regret
All Monsters have the return fire.png Return Fire

On this battle, using range monsters would be highly disadvantageous so its either go with melee and magic which in my case, I focus on melee monsters also with monsters that would counter magic attack. I have placed Sunkai Harvester as my secondary tank by which on that position was able to attack because it has the Reach ability, dealing 3 damage to Blinding Reflector on round one.

As for Stitch Leech which was on the 4th position, Its Sneak ability has targetted Supply Runner on the back and defeated it and has gained 1 health from it with the effect of the Life Leech ability. At the end of the round, Stitch Leech has 9 health as it continued to inflict damage towards the backline monsters of the opponent.

Battle 3: Blinding Reflector

Super Sneak
All Melee attack Monsters have the sneak.png Sneak ability.

With the 3rd battle, I used Blinding Reflector as my tank and though the opponent did not use any magic monster and Magic Reflect was useless, It's Blind ability has given another 15% chance for the opponent to miss its target and it has added to the 50% dodge chance of Pelacor Conjurer that it gets from Flying which became particularly dodgy within round 2 and 3 and has even evaded Pelacor Bandit even at its speed. this has allowed my monsters to attack my opponent giving the opportunity for Jared Scar to be able to defeat various opponent and increase ist stats with Bloodlust.

Battle 4: Chaos Knight:

ConditionsDescription

Lost Magic
Monsters with 00-magic.png Magic attack may not be used in battles.
evens stevens.png
Evens Stevens
Only Monsters with even Mana costs may be used in battles.

For the last battle, I have Chaos Knight here as we can only use even mana monsters with the active ruleset but at the same time, it also provided us with the ability to attack at any position despite using melee monsters. Chaos Knight was placed on the 2nd position and when the time that Corsair Bosun was on the front, it inflicts 8 damage on it with the effect of the Giant Killer ability that multiplies its damage. It has also boost the damage for the rest of my melee monsters with the help of Inspire, adding 1 melee damage for each monster.

Final Thoughts

I'm now on the third week of my review for the core common cards of Chaos Legion and has tackled the Light element. The cards this time around composed of melee monsters and not very diverse compared to the Fire and Water Element. My most used monster among this set would be Stitch Leech for backline attacker while Blinding Reflector and Chaos Knight as front line tank as they do posses huge amount of armor for low mana usage. They do complement more for the legendary Life summoner given that it gives protection against magic and additional armor.

And that was it for this review. See you on my next post!
