Rome's Popular Must-See Attractions

Hello. Last week I had a guest from out of town and we decided to take a week-long tour of Rome. First we went to a normal Roman street. I mean, we wanted to visit places that were not too touristy, not too crowded.

When it was 12:00 noon, when there were fewer tourists, we thought it was time to visit the big buildings of Rome. and we turned our route to St. Peter's Square. This has a large area and is one of the largest squares in the world. As a result of many years of work in the square, today's colonnaded layout has been achieved. In the middle of the square there is a water pool with ornate fountains and an Egyptian obelisk 25 meters high. This obelisk was built by an unknown pharaoh in Egypt and later brought to Rome.

After the square we headed towards Adriano Park. We visited the Castle of Sant'Angelo, which was built by the Roman Emperor Hadrian as a mausoleum and later used as a papal castle. Today it serves as a museum.

Palazzo della Consulta in Quirinal Square was our next stop. This is home to the Constitutional Court of the Italian Republic. There is also the Library of the Constitutional Court inside. The building is very beautiful because there are many statues here.

On our way there was an unusual Gothic church for Rome. This is the Church of Sacro Cuore del Suffragio. This is a Catholic place of worship in the center of Rome and is also called the "Little Cathedral of Milan" because of its rich Gothic style. It is a church near the Castle of St. Angel.

There are really beautiful buildings in Rome. For some reason, I like the old, red brick houses better. I feel like I am on a journey through history.

In every city there are different activities, I think it was a good idea to take a water tram ride on the river. We enjoyed the river cruise watching the beauty of the city.

After the river cruise we visited one of the most unusual churches in Rome, Santa Maria. This is considered one of the oldest churches in Rome. The church is quite small but beautiful. Inside there are doors, mosaics and frescoes dedicated to the Virgin Mary.

On the third day of our trip we came to an orange grove, it is very quiet. But there is a beautiful area with a fantastic view of the city.

You can't go inside but you can look through the keyhole and there you can see the dome of St. Peter's Basilica. So we got in line and we looked.

Piramide di Caio Cestio is an unusual monument. It is known to have a history of about 2 thousand years. Once upon a time, there was another pyramid and this one was built after the death of Gaius Cestius. He wanted to be buried in this pyramid because of his interest in Egypt. He gave his descendants 330 days to build the pyramid, otherwise their inheritance would be jeopardized. It was possible to learn this during the analysis of an inscription in the Pyramid of Cestius.

We stopped by Via dei Magazzini Generali, an area that has recently become popular with young people. There is a lot of street art here and prominent street art artists have created their works here.

Here is the square Coliseum. Esposizione Universale di Roma is a residential and business area in Rome. It was planned for the world fair but never materialized due to the war. After the war it developed as a business district outside the city and is now home to the headquarters of many companies and public organizations.

Life is a struggle, that's what this monument is about.

A park near the Trevi Fountain, there are lots of parrots, you can totally think of them as sparrows. At the Trevi Fountain there were a lot of people, as usual. You should throw a coin into the Trevi Fountain and make a wish to come back.

The Pantheon and Largo di Torre Argentina, where they executed Julius Caesar. Also here, there is a colony of Roman cats, they feed them here. But it's very hot right now and we thought they are probably hiding somewhere. So we went looking for a while and finally we found the cats.

And we continued to see Rome...
