Who I Was & Who I Am

Young people in high school or tertiary institutions are often faced with social invisibility where they could feel lost in the crowd because they are still learning about themselves, still trying to figure out their purpose and peculiarities.

My High School Years

The same thing happened with me when I was in High School. I was still discovering myself. I was a very shy person, infact I was an introvert. Though I had my close friends whom I expressed myself with but I had very good relationships with my classmates.

I was always a shoulder to lean on and I showed respect for everyone.
There was a day we were in class and we were talking about our scores in a particular subject, one of my friends mention a classmate of mine and mocked per for failing that subject. Immediately I reprimanded her for such act. I couldn't condone having her insult someone simply because the person was not as intelligent as she was and that made my classmates respect me.

I saw beauty in everybody whether that person was academically intelligent or not. I just had a way of bonding with him or her because I sought to find out that one thing that makes them so peculiar.

Also, I was so engrossed in my desire to study Medicine that my Teachers, including my Principal started referring to me as Doctor. I had the opportunity to represent my school in competitions with other high ranking schools in the State.

My Life In Uni

Now I'm currently in Tertiary Institurion, in my 3rd year. Coming to the university was pivotal to me discovering who I really am and my purpose as well. Though I didn't get the Medicine I applied for, I settled for another course of study - Human Anatomy. My folks in secondary school would be so shocked now that I'm not studying Medicine and will be more shocked that I don't have any interest in studying it again 😌

Over here, a lot of persons call me Pastor because I am always preaching to them about Jesus. This is what I am mostly known for in Uni, from my predegree days and 1st year till date and I have impacted so many lives and I'm still at it.

My University Student Union Government, SUG ( a body in Nigerian Universities where students have the opportunity to hold political positions and participate in the decision making processes in the University, it is like the voice of the students) is back and the elections have begun.
I hope to participate at the Faculty level and run for Director of Welfare for my Faculty so I can solicit for the well-being of the students and air their opinions.
More importantly, very few persons in these political associations are bold to do what is right. Few of them are scared to speak for God and see to it that righteous policies are enacted that will result in the prosperity of the students. This is what I hope to achieve - to ensure that the voice of God is heard loud and clear which will enable us to make the right decisions.

These are what I'm known for that make me stand out in my Campus.
