Barrister Horsfall, having practised Law for 25 years was no doubt one of the best Lawyers in the State and was on the road to becoming a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).

Being a well recognised member of the Bar, all eyes were on him both for good and for evil.

One Sunday afternoon, he was taking a nap when he heard a noise at his gate.

Two fierce masked men dropped from a black Lexus Jeep in front of his gate, forcefully took his tenant who was returning from a Church Service with his wife, put him into the vehicle and drove off, leaving his wife there screaming her lungs out.

Rushing to the crime scene, he was perplexed and immediately led his tenants wife straight to the police station to report what happend.

Coincidentally, the kidnappers didn't come for his tenant. They came for him.

When they finally got to their destination, and found out that they had took the wrong guy, they immediately made plans to drop him off along the road the following day.

The next day, the wife of the tenant who was kidnapped received a call from an unknown number and hearing the voice of the man on the other end, tears rolled down her eyes... It was her husband. He had managed to call her with the help of a farmer who was going to work in his farm and found him lying beside the bush, recklessly beaten and weak.

Without wasting much time, she told her landlord (The Barrister) and they were soon off to go pick him up by following the description given by the farmer.

Little did they know that the kidnappers hadn't given up on their sole mission and was patiently waiting for them in front of their gate to seize the Lawyer when he arrived.

On getting to the gate, the same guys stopped Barr. Horsfall's vehicle and forcefully pulled him from the drivers seat but he wasn't willing to let them have their way and so he engaged in a gun fight with them but was shot in the process.

The kidnappers seeing what happened and for fear of being caught as the noise got the attention of people in the estate, drove off speedily but his tenant's wife, having gone though military school, was smart enough to get the car's number plate in which the hoodlums drove in.

That period, Doctors were on strike so the Barr was unable to get any medical attention except from a family friend who was a Doctor and when he came, he confirmed him dead because he had already lost a lot of blood.

The Barrister's whole family was depressed due to their loss but determined to get justice for his death. That was when his tenant's wife told the deceased Barrister's wife (her landlady) that she had managed to get the number plate of the vehicle of the kidnappers and with the help of the police, they were caught during an operation the following week. They confessed at the police station that they were hired by one Barr. George Hamilton. He was like a Godfather to the late Barrister and the one who showed him the ropes in the Bar. He was driven by an undissolved envy for the Barrister who had achieved much more than he did in 40 years of his Law practise.

Though Barr Horsfall couldn't be brought back but Justice was served for him.

Till next time, keep getting justice...

This is a sad story but I'm glad justice was served, I wish he didn't die though.

Justice was served in the end. But then, if someone can't be safe from their own mentors again, then the world is really going bonkers.
Thank you for sharing this with us.

It's how greed and selfishness have gone deep in men's heart. Thank you for stopping by Sir.
