The most admired person in my life

Meet my best friend Ranjan - We met in 1978, when we started our schooling in class 1 and the journey will continue till we are alive. We were good friends for three years, but I moved after standard III because of a transferable job of my father. But my mother convinced my father at that time to buy the land and we returned back in 1990 to settle there permanently. Since then, we are shadows to each other. We would meet for hours every day - we had a common interest - sports. We both used to play football and cricket and I still remember, if we are on opposite sides, we will fight like anything. While playing football, a lot of arguments would happen - people were surprised to see us together in the evening. We just left those arguments in the field - after coming back, we were spending most of the evening together. We cared for each other and that is why we are best friends. We had difference in education, status but nothing mattered and as time passed, our families got closer. He is the person who would get the call from my wife in case of any trouble and he is the person whom I call first, whenever there is any plan for any event or celebration. He has learnt everything hard way and his insight always inspires me.

He won't leave me alone anywhere - always making sure I am comfortable. Same goes with me - I always make sure, he is doing good. One of our best moment is the time we spent before our marriage. I had a bike and while roaming locally, we would sit like husband and wife - in India, the wife sits on the back facing one side. One of us would drive and the other would sit like a wife. It was so much fun - symbolizing our relationship. And he broke my very first love - because it was inter-caste. He was wise and he knew it will create a lot of trouble in my family. I tried my best to bypass him but he would always chase me and prevent me to continue that relationship. Even today he tells my wife that I am her husband because of him.

After our marriage, we both have been burdened with responsibilities but that has not affected our feelings - it remains same even today. We both would remember each other in case of any trouble or any celebrations. Both our families are closely associated now but we do take some leisure from our family to enjoy our friendship often.

Even today, we enjoy going to any sports activity, he would ensure, I am there. I have posted about some of our cricket events and you must have seen him always. And whenever I am at my native - we try to meet and talk for hours over a coffee - even today, he would tell me do this, do that.

I feel friendship is the most important relationship in our life - a friend does not have any blood relation but he is the one on whose shoulder you can cry - he is the one who gives you the maximum comfort. I am privileged to be gifted with such a best friend where I find a second half.

And he is also on hive - @ranjangjang - I persuaded him to post here but later he gave up. May be I should try once again to bring him back here.
